Do not buy this case if you intend to use it with the apple pencil. The apple pencil is completely non-functional with this case. Firstly, when the apple pencil is inserted into the case's apple pencil holder, the case does not close (see pictures). Not only is this ugly, not only does this put additional strain on the case making it more likely to break, not only does this make the case look ugly and not only does it minimize it's portability by taking up additional bag space - on top of all of those cons, it also makes the smart screen wake up function of the case completely non-functional, as a majority of the case never comes in contact with the screen. Secondly, while the apple pencil is holstered into the case's holder it does not charge. Since the apple pencil charges by magnetizing and making contact with the top of your ipad, what this means is if you ever want to charge your apple pencil (which you're going to have to do frequently if you use yours) you will have to entirely remove the case from the ipad in order to access the case's charging port. This is an incredibly inconvenient and frustration design choice. For these above two reasons I'm returning this right away, and I highly advise no one else buy this case for use with their apple pencil. If, on the other hand, you don't currently have an apple pencil and intend to never purchase one in the future, this case may be all right for you. As I said, I'm returning mine, so I can't speak for the durability of the case. That being said, the plastic feels relatively sturdy while still having some give to it so that it's not totally rigid. The material is soft and velvety to the touch, which makes it pleasant to interact with. The volume and power buttons are totally functional and easy to depress while the ipad is within the case, and the ipad microphone, speakers and charging port are all unobstructed by the case's design and easy and convenient to utilize without the case getting in the way. When the ipad is inserted into the case WITHOUT the apple pencil, the smart wake up feature works just as intended, and the case front flat easily magnetizes and folds into a convenient - and seemingly stable - case stand. This stand seems just fine for desk or other hard surface use, but likely is too unstable for lap use. The color and appearance of the case is also attractive, and completely true to the amazon description. Hopefully other people can find use for this case, as for me it's an easy immediate return. ... show more

    • It doesnt serve any purpose for the Apple Pencil
The media could not be loaded. Granted, the apple pencil can still stick into the iPad Pro's side, but it is not charging. This is a new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The case doesnt serve well for the Apple Pencil. It's cute though...but I need a case that serves well for both iPad and Pencil 🤷🏻♀️

I've had it for 3 months now and I've had no problem with it other than the fact that I can't charge my apple pencil with its cover on it unless I take case off on one side, which is something I'm willing to deal with. I also really like that the pencil holder is on the side that doesn't charge the pencil because that means my pencil won't be constantly charging and that's exactly what I wanted. ... show more

The design and color of the case are super cute. It was in perfect condition when I unwrapped it, but it’s been less than a month and the sleep/wake cover has started to warp so it won’t close flatly anymore (shown in the photos). Also, the edges that cover the front of the iPad have started to yellow. For reference, I only keep it in the house and use a separate stand to prop my iPad, so I rarely use the case as the stand itself. Other than that, my apple pencil charged fine while using the case. When the pencil is on the top of the case, the pencil does not connect to the charger as it usually should. Because of this I have had to take off the case each time to charge the pencil. I have tried to move the pencil around slightly so it connects and still I have had no success with charging the pencil while the case is on. Other than that it is a great case I just wish the pencil would charge while the case is one. ... show more

Decided to do this review in case others have a question on how this case fits 2018 iPad Pro... The case is great, it fit perfectly - only thing is the camera cutout will be bigger. I have Apple Pencil 2nd Gen...which charges perfectly with this case as well. Btw, green looks really nice!
