Style: NEW 14000 BTU
My central A/C stopped working properly, and I am using this as a backup. The first unit was very noisy, but AMAZON replaced it promptly. The new unit does make noise during regular settings, but it is quite quiet during "sleep" mode. The unit is designated for 750 sqft, but in a bind I can use it by closing a couple of doors, to have a 1000 sqft area covered. The "dehumidify" mode is excellent, and it draws up a lot of water. The enclosed hose is about 1.5 ft long, and I wish that it would have been longer. I have it draining into a 1 gallon juice bottle, but you have to be careful for any overflow. I put the juice bottle in a tub because originally I had some leakage on my tile floor. The only thing that I hate is that the window bracket is made up of two pieces that are not the same size. I would have preferred two large pieces with one smaller connector that goes on the inside. This way the gap is perfect on the window, not like now where there is about 1/4" hole. Another thing that I would improve is to include silicone tape to keep the plastic bracket aligned properly and to fill in any gaps, because now you have to purchase separately. Because of the size of the area that I need to cool is greater than 750 sqft limit, I am keeping this unit as a backup for bad weather (hurricane) or when the central A/C decides to break down. ... show more
