  • Premium Stainless Steel Portawrap for Safe and Easy Tree Limb Lowering Premium Stainless Steel Portawrap for Safe and Easy Tree Limb Lowering
This stainless steel portawrap is a heavy piece of hardware. It feels solid in my hand and the precision machining is obvious just by looking at the finish. The metal isn't thin or cheap. It has some real weight to it which gives me confidence when I'm working high up in a tree. The specs claim a 3,000 lb working load limit and a 7,000 lb minimum breaking strength. When you are rigging heavy limbs, you need gear that doesn't fail. This tool is built for that kind of tension. The stainless steel construction should hold up well against the elements and won't rust out after one season in the rain. The friction mechanics are the most important part here. You just wrap the rope around the center cylinder to control your descent. More wraps mean more resistance. It makes lowering sawn-off treetops much smoother than using a basic knot or a less efficient device. It works exactly how it's supposed to when you need controlled resistance. I like that it has a tree-friendly protection cap. It shows they thought about the bark and not just the metal. The handle design is also smart because it lets you grip it firmly without your hands getting in the way of the rope. It's a rugged tool for serious arborists who don't want to mess around with flimsy gear. 🟩 Heavy duty stainless steel construction 🟩 Precise friction control via rope wraps 🟩 Tree-friendly design with protection cap 🟩 High load capacity for heavy rigging tasks 🟩 Easy to handle even with gloves on This is a high quality piece of equipment that provides great value for the price. It's built to last and performs exactly like the listing promises. If you need reliable gear for tree work, this is it. ... show more

  • This is a good helper.
My son’s the one out there wrestling those beetle‑killed pines, and this Port‑A‑Wrap has been a lifesaver for him. The thing’s built like a tank with that huge breaking strength, so he’s not worried about anything snapping when he’s lowering big dead limbs. His 5/8" rope fits it just right, and he said it makes the drop super smooth instead of those sudden “hold your breath” moments. It’s only 4 pounds, so he can haul it around the tree without grumbling. Plus, the stainless steel holds up great in our humidity and all the sap he gets covered in. Overall, it’s solid gear and gives him the control he needs when the trees are sketchy. ... show more

  • Solid steel pipe and tubing, heavy duty and has a good weight, welds could be better. Solid steel pipe and tubing, heavy duty and has a good weight, welds could be better.
I have a plot of land that has a lot of older growth oak trees and they are in dire need of cleaning up dead wood. I have done a lot of the smaller pruning but haven't tried to tackle the larger branches. I got this with the intention of being able to safety remove the larger heavier deadwood. This port a wrap is heavy duty and solid for sure, it's made from solid thick wall steel tube pipe and solid thick bent steel. Honestly it should last many years of use. The only critique I would make with this is that the welding on some of the points could be better. I don't think there are any big issues with the welding but with the amount of weight this is going to be under I would like the see these weld joints really tight and clean. Overall I am happy with this and think it should work great for my current project and many future ones. ... show more

  • Great
I’m super happy with this Port-A-Wrap. The stainless steel build feels solid and heavy-duty, so I’m confident it’ll hold up well against rust and corrosion out in the elements. Setting it up on the tree is straightforward and quick, which is exactly what I need when I’m working on a job. It’s perfect for using with my 5/8" arborist rope. Having this makes lowering heavy limbs and logs so much smoother and more controlled compared to just relying on knots. Overall, I think it's a great product and a great value!!! ... show more

  • Very heavy duty rigging
I wasn't expecting something quite this heavy duty when I ordered it. I have a few smaller versions of this type of rigging that work fine. I'm quite sure this thing will hold considerably more weight than the other's I have. It's well built. The welding on it appears solid. While it's a bit expensive, I feel it's worth the money. It's priced less than you would get on many arborist websites. These are very effective tools to have in your bag if you're doing any tree cutting at all around buildings and require managed lowering of sections. ... show more

  • Works awesome Works awesome
This is a great tool for lowering limbs to the ground. It’s almost effortless. I won’t say that a child could do it but any adult will have no problems what so ever lowering even large limbs. It comes with a great set of instructions if you don’t know what knots to tie. Need a special rope that is not included. Works awesome. ... show more

  • Great value
Solid value. Heavy gage and good welds. A couple weld spurs to smooth but no big deal.
