- Sewing freedom -- The feed dog control can be raised for all general sewing purposes and lowered for darning, freehand embroidery, and monogramming so not the feed dogs are guiding the fabric that you are free to sew. I bought this Poolin sewing machine as well as a Brother one. I wanted to try them out to decide which one would be the best for me a beginner. I was a little nervous to go with this machine as Brother is one of the best machines in the US besides Singer and a couple more names and I had not known or heard of Poolin. What I wanted it for was to sew some faux fur and do some embroidery on things. My daughter had a brother machine and loves it. I was nervous because it is not easy to sew that kind of fur and the feed dogs were not up very high. First problem was the sewing of faux fur. I had my daughter come over to use my machine as she has been sewing the fur on her machine for a while. The other problem was that the feed dogs weren't very high. I read the Quick Start Guide and glanced over the instruction manual. I tell you what, I would buy this machine just for the Quick Start Guide alone!!! It was so easy to read and understand and that is saying a lot for me! To make a very long review shorter so that you are not here all day reading my review, I am going to shorten this. The poolin machine has wonderful instructions on the whole machine. It is like a book for sewing for dummies. I found through those instructions how to bring the feed dogs up! It was litterly on the back of the machine next to the feed dog setting which if I had read those instructions the first time I wouldn't have been so worried. With the problem with sewing with the faux fur. My daughter came over to see if this machine could handle it or not. Boy was my daughter impressed how easy it was to sew the fur with this machine!!! She said that I better keep this machine because it sews through fur like butter and that it sews better than her Brother machine!!! I did also try the embroidery part of it and it came out perfect!!! It also has some of the cutest stitches like a swan, dog, bunny, and a car!!! So, putting all things together. Poolin beat the Brother machine hands down!!! I am so happy that I took a chance and bought this machine! It is a fantastic machine for a beginner and advanced sewers!!! Don't do what I did and read all the bad reviews because that is what they are BAD reviews and nothing more. This machine sews circles around the Brother machine!!! Take a chance on it you won't be disappointed!!!

I have tried various sewing machines from Janome, Brother, and Singer. All of these machines were sent back. Even though they had all various features that were appealing, I encountered all sorts of issues with them which includes a simple task of threading the bobbin. With any machine the user will have to learn how to operate it, however, if one follows the manual and also has cleared the machine it should not have an issue re-occuring an hour later. This machine is a steal and is worth looking at. Right out of the box it is very easy to use. I have tried all the stitches on a piece of scrap fabric and also played around with the different options of the machine. All in all I am very satisfied. I definitely would suggest checking out this machine. Also before returning the machine, contact the seller, he is with you all the way and is available to answer any questions. Take the chance and try this machine you got nothing to lose and everything to gain. PS- I also just ordered the embroidery machine. My goal is to make my own garments and do some embroidery on the side. Update I was able to make my first skirt with those sewing machine. It was a challenge but the machine was able to help me sew this garment.

The new different name Poolin sewing machine try it. So, it's better than brother sewing machine had 2015 it wears out use long time quilting years, this Poolin really neat help smooth and Stright good. had extra fun animals and a to z this so cool very easy also I am deaf the feeling does not seem loud to me? also the light number u read I can see better! I like it!

The machine was great at first. Ran fine, a little loud but ok. Now I'm breaking needles on just plain quilting cotton, and not cheap ones either and there is a rubbing type sound when it stitches that I can't figure out where it coming from. I wish I could get my money back but lession learned.

It broke as soon as I got it, I only got one test run out of it and the bobbin incasement need to be replaced I’m not sure if I’m going to replace it or sent this thing back
