To start these chairs look amazing and we know they will last years with a 20 year residential warranty. They are comfortable and the color is exactly what I was looking for. As for assembly... a bit difficult, would have been much easier with two people as the manufacture suggested. But assembly is not why these didn’t revive a 5/5. I had a few damaged in shipping, I would have had to send the whole chair back. So I ended up just fixing them with deck screws. One other issue is that they flex a lot! It’s strange maybe I’m just comparing them to woods, but both arms and back flex when sitting in them. For the cost I feel they should feel more sturdy. The other down side and (this will be fixed over time) is when the individual slats and boards had been made when cutting or rounding the edge they have pieces that didn’t get cut clear off. They are easy enough to pick off with your fingers. This can be seems in one of the photos attached. Again for the cost should the customer have to do that? No they should look great out of the box. That said I do really like them and will probably end up buying some side tables down the road. You also should feel great and they are made from recycled materials. Over all I would buy again. Ordered 4 Modern Adirondack chairs. Delivery within 2 days included 4 large and heavy boxes - a good thing since I wanted chairs that won’t blow over in the wind. Assembled chairs from first 2 boxes without any problem. Hardware and tools, directions and five main pieces included in each box: base with front feet, seat with back feet, two arms and one back. Assembly is best done with two sets of hands. I did the first by myself, the second with a helper. The third chair had a problem with the back piece, which consists of 3 upright slats and 3 cross braces. The middle brace had been attached improperly, with metal screws exposed that would press into your back when you sit back. Called Polywood’s customer service. Rep ordered new back piece to be shipped in a few days. Quick and excellent response, with a follow up email from the company. Fourth chair out-of-the-box was missing the two arm pieces. Called customer service again and a different rep said new arms would be sent. I ended up using good parts from last 2 boxes to complete a third chair, and once the replacement back and new arms come, will assemble the fourth and final chair. Chairs look great. I’m very pleased, and only deducted a star in my rating due to the problems with 2 of the 4 boxes’ contents. Customer service, however, gets 5 stars. ... show more

Once you go polywood, you'll never go back. I've had these in bright green and orange. Before I moved out of state, my neighbors liked them so much they asked me if I would give them to them if I was getting rid of them. For shame!!! Get rid of them?!?!?! These are a lifetime purchase! Nothing stands a chance against these fade resistant bad boys! No amount of sun, wind, rain, sleet, or snow! You could even take a knife to them and the color is the same to the core because they are made of recycled milk jugs and and the like. No paint to flake off or rot to contend with. Completely maintenance free! Just hit em with a hose once in a while. I hope my former neighbors are enjoying the chairs they guilt tripped me out of :), but I guess it was an excuse to get these new modern gray beauties and I'm obsessed. I only give them 4 stars for not including a wrench and because it takes a small miracle to put these together by yourself. I'm a bit bruised up and my dogs were quite concerned about me during the assembly process, but I eventually managed it. If you have a partner, you'll be smooth sailing in 15 minutes flat though. ... show more

My wife (bright and intuitive) and I spent 2+ hours assembling this chair. You Tube videos also were consulted. One presenter laughed at the accompanying pictures (only) for the chair. The manufacturer could greatly improve assistance to those who spent $250+ for the parts by including some text for each step. "Do this, don't do that, and orient these parts in specific directions for Step 1, Step 2"....". Yes, assembly of additional chairs would be a breeze - but why have to spend all that apprenticeship time on the first? ... show more

I searched the internet for poly wood chairs and found that most sites could not deliver for about 6 weeks or more. Of course, Amazon came to the rescue and in two days I received my shipment. I was concerned that the chair pieces would be damaged because the outer cartons are flimsy and the pieces are not wrapped or protected—but everything was perfect and I am very satisfied. Assembly, as others note, is extremely easy and all the hardware is in a sealed bag. I bought 6 chairs and the delivered product was 100 percent accurate. one improvement, I would ask that the poly wood folks add a wrench to the install packet to make tightening the nuts and bolts easier. ... show more

Assembly was a breeze. We bought 4 and had them all assembled in about 30 minutes. Lots of comments about the Allen wrench. Maybe they have upgraded. All 4 came with a nice, sturdy T-handle Allen wrench. Very high quality material, easy assembly and very comfortable to sit in. The seat is not super deep like some Adirondack chairs can be. Nice modern take on a classic design. We chose slate grey and are very, very satisfied. Update! It turned out that one of our chairs had a noticeable scratch in one of the backrest panels. Contacted customer support. Sent the a picture of the damage along with a picture of the chair serial number and our Amazon order number on Monday, tracking number says replacement will arrive tomorrow (Wednesday). That's customer service!!! *** 4 years update *** Absolutely no color fade, no stains, no deterioration at all. This product is GREAT 👍👍👍 ... show more
