I do not recommend this bed. I have made many furniture purchases from Amazon and this one is the most disappointing. The instructions are poor and very hard to follow, and the construction is very poor. Although the bed looks amazing from further back, the tack-weld on the metal shelves is terrible. They are welded from the top, not the bottom. The metal is flimsy. My son can’t even climb to the top bunk because when he climbs the ladder, the shelves bend and buckle popping the metal. I had expected wood shelves or something that was at least reinforced. I am really disappointed. Don’t waste your money or time. ... show more

As my experience in the past has been with metal frame bunk beds, it’s not nearly as sturdy as a wood frame. Any movement on the top bunk is made quite evident to anyone on the bottom bunk. More importantly, one of the ladders arrived without all of the pre-drilled holes. That being said, the shelf at that position is not properly secured or screwed and gets knocked out of lying level. See photo. Otherwise, it is plenty functional for its price. It would have been nice if the desk space was slightly larger but again, is functional. ... show more
