  • No issues
Bought this to keep track of my hiking miles. I have used all year and have had no issues. It is accurate in tracking my mileage. I am easily able to sync it with my phone and keep up with all my data.

  • All you need on the go!
People buy smart watches with the same mindset buying smart phones, they never really use them to full capacity. A conversational piece. The Polar Ignite does the job with simplicity and adequate utility. It’s a tool that provides helpful information on the quest for health & fitness without breaking the bank. It’s spot on when I over-do in my training and recommends downtime as well as suggests substitute activity for good recovery. I can better gauge my performance between the gym and hot yoga sessions at the studio (avoiding over exertion and an ambulance call). Very instrumental during lap swimming by monitoring my THR and rest x. I use the sleep monitoring mode nightly, which tells me how hard I can train the next day. Since I’m prone to pushing beyond my limitations too often, especially at my age 58+, this sports watch protects me from myself, preventing medical mishap and not degrading my fitness goals. Sleek, good appearance, and “bright display”. Polar Flow phone app is quite informative and versatile. Gets the job done hassle free. ... show more

  • Overall Good Value
Overall like the watch. Battery life is shorter than my old Polar M430 but more graphics. Also visibility can in outside direct sunlight. No ability to change lighting.

  • Pretty good for the average user
My previous Polar was an M400, that lasted until the mini usb decided not to work anymore. Battery life on that model was very long, and the B/W screen worked perfectly outdoors due to high contrast. The new polar designs, vantage or ignite, lack that straight forward display after they decided that a color screen was a better choice. I would strongly suggest polar that in future software updates they give users the option to switch to a high contras b/w display. Otherwise is a pretty good activity tracker for the average user. There was no way that my Samsung A 70 would link to the watch, I don't needed, but it was a feature advertised that didn't work for me. ... show more

  • Amazing fitness tool.
I've had this for over a year now and love it. Perfect for my uses. Great, visible display that puts FitBit to shame. Much better technology. Great support.

  • Poor customer service and tech support
This unit stopped connecting with the charger after 2 months of use. Company was not helpful in troubleshooting

  • Now only wear during excercises
I stopped wearing this watch daily for several reasons. NEW 1 - You have to use third party apps to trim your exercises if you forget to stop it! Polar just says they are working on it. If you run, get in the car and drive somewhere, you can't just import your exercise and then click minute 30 and select delete remainder. Throws of all your metrics if you leave the exercise in so you just have to delete it entirely. Not a complete deal breaker other than indicating Polar has fallen behind the curve with exercise monitors. NEW2 - If you turn off the HR monitor, you have to enable it again every time you exercise. It seems simple enough that if you start an exercise, you want the HR monitoring and again, this could be a coded option. Do you want to turn off constant HR monitoring? Do you still want HR monitoring when exercising? 1 - You have to wear it too tightly to get accurate HR results. 1a - Because you have to wear it too tightly to get good HR results, it is uncomfortable to wear while sleeping, at least for me. I gave up after about two months with this, I would wake up in the night and take it off. 2 - The black band is textured on top and needs regular cleaning to keep it clean, especially from salt water sports. Was not an issue with my timex ironman that had a smooth band. UPDATED 3 - The interface is cumbersome and slow, worth selecting a watch with more than 1 button if you want this type of fitness monitor. 4 - The touch screen responsiveness is poor. I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to select a workout and I keep swiping to get to the next exercise but the current exercise just moves to the side and then back to center. 5 - Constantly having to hit the button to see the time. Read this was a complaint with others, didn't think much of it, now it is a complaint of mine because I have to stop typing or whatever I'm doing to read the time or indiscreetly interact with my watch to monitor the time I've set for meetings. I work a lot with my hands, they get dirty or I have gloves on, pain in the rear. 6 - I started again wearing this watch to monitor my sleep and see if taking melatonin had any quantitative effect. I sleep well and get up early than expected and Polar things I'm compromised. I sleep poorly, struggle to get out of bed hitting the snooze several times and Polar thinks I've slept "Good". 7 - Activity tracking, I set my activity level to the highest, I did yard work for 3 hours and it reported I was at 212% of my daily activity. The daily activity bar is set super low and not worth giving any attention. 8 - countdown timer, if you start the countdown timer you will get two different alerts, if you move back to watch screen you get more vibrating and a screen that tells you and asks for interaction that the timer is done. If you leave the watch on the countdown timer screen, you get some vibrating and it just ends. Other issues I've read but don't care about. I honestly don't think it is big deal that when I run, ride or whatever that the gps doesn't follow with 100% accuracy. When reviewing a run or hike in the app, I can see my path on the map cut a corner or go off trail on hikes. Whatever tiny distance is cut off my overall run, isn't important. The watch has sometimes been spot on when compared to my other gps devices like my Oregon for hiking or my phone. Overall I'm still wearing it for workouts but for the most part, I'm just tracking HR zone now and my individual exercises themselves to see improvement or slides. Update: Would not buy this watch or another Polar device. Their development seems slow and not really in tune to how people would use their devices. ... show more
