  • The RTX 4000 series sweet spot
Style: Duan Fan OC
I run a variety of GPUs for data processing (not gaming) so I'm mainly focused on CUDA performance. I've used: RTX 3070, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Super, and RTX 4080. I sold the RTX 3000s because of the high electricity cost, but they certainly performed well. The RTX 4000s are much more efficient. The RTX 4060 Ti was very efficient, but for the price it was too slow. Personally, I'd rather have a used 3070 than a new 4060 Ti. However, the plain RTX 4070s are really great for their good processing speed and efficiency. But the RTX 4070 Super is about 15% faster for only $50 more. Both versions are great graphics cards, but the Super delivers a definite improvement. So if you're considering a 4070, I'd definitely go with the 4070 Super if you can find a decent price. My 4080 is amazing, but the price was shocking. The 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti Super seem pointless. Either you can justify the steep cost of a 4080, or you find the 4070 Super works just fine for you at a semi-sane price. For a lot of people the 4070 Super will be the sweet spot. I run the PNY 4070 and the 4070 Super (all with 2 fans) and physically they virtually identical, except for power connector. The PNY 4070 Super comes with a 16-pin to two 8-pin adapter cable (tucked under the product info in the box). Unlike most GPUs with 16-pin ports, the PNY's port is set deep with NO notch in the backplate. If you're thinking about using your own 90 degree 16-pin adapter, I doubt it will work. But being a fairly deep-set port, the supplied 16-pin cable should fit almost every narrow case. (You'll need at least 1.5 inches above the GPU bracket screws to get the supplied 16-pin cable to fit.) I'm seeing around 56C under heavy load and 50% fan speed. Keep in mind I'm not running games, so I'm not fully using the NVIDIA GPU -- and I have good case cooling. ... show more

  • Performed better than I expected.
Style: Duan Fan OC
I purchased this graphics card to replace my RTX3060. With the main goal of playing at higher than 1080p resolutions. To my surprise not only was it capable of this. But it was also capable of maxing out my 1080p 165hz refresh rate monitor in titles such as Alan Wake 2. While using ray/path tracing. I'm excited I was able to go from an entry tier to a high tier graphics card without having to change my power supply. Given the efficiency of the 4070 Super. Thermals have been great even with just the two fans . It stays marginally cooler than my 3060 while not under load. And only slightly warmer while under load. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting both efficient rasterization performance and better Ray Tracing performance than the competition. ... show more

  • Phenomenal card
Style: Duan Fan OC
Absolutely great buy. Upgraded from 2070 Super and more than doubled my frame rates. Smaller than the old GPU and destroys games at 1440p. I get 75-85 FPS maxed on out Cyperpunk with DLSS Quality and Path Tracing + Frame Gen, and it looks STUNNING. Highly recommend for this price.

  • Dead on arrival
Style: Duan Fan OC
Built my first pc with an experienced friend using this card. Card did not detect, replaced motherboard and power supply to be sure they weren't the problem. They weren't, it was this graphics card. Maybe I just got a dud, but very disappointing experience for my first build.

  • Poor cooling and lowered performance
Style: Duan Fan OC
The cooling on this card is the worst I've seen on a 4070 super. Not sure if its the heat sink and/or the fans but my MSI dual fan 4070 super runs 10-15 degrees cooler. At 200w its alread at 80 degrees. It constantly lowers its frequency due to the heat in high use situations. There are other cards in this same price range and I would highly reccomend any of them if you plan to put a high load on it. ... show more

  • Great itx Upgrade!
Style: Duan Fan OC
I’m limited in space and fan direction with the Ghost S1 case, upgraded from PowerColor 6700XT to PNY dual fan 4070 Super. It’s nice and quiet. It’s on the warmer side, avg 76C in Timespy benchmark but worth the trade off. I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really trying to work within a tight space, aesthetically it’s basic, and it’s warmer than other manufacturers 4070 Supers, but the performance is still there :) ... show more

  • Overheats
Style: Duan Fan OC
I use this card for video decoding/encoding and gaming. Whenever this card is under heavy load it overheats and crashes my system. I've built PCs for 20+ years and have never had this issue with a brand new card. I'm returning this and getting an Asus!

  • FINALLY, a quiet 4070 super.
Style: Triple Fan ARGB OC
After trying several 4070s including: Asus Proart, 2 different Asus Dual OC's, and a Gigabyte Gaming OC, PNY of all companies comes through with a whisper quiet and decently cool card. The asus all had either noisy fans despite being dual ball bearing, or with one of the Dual OC's horrible coil whine. The gigabyte gaming OC had great fans and thermals, but the coil whine was even worse than the Asus Dual. This card keeps up with the temps of the Asus Dual OC, sometimes a 1-2 degrees cooler, but it does it without the noisy fans. On top of this the coil whine is the lowest I've heard in any modern graphics card I've owned to date. You have to be up to the open part of your case to hear noise during normal loads, and during gaming load it is still drowned out by the case and gpu fans. Will be buying PNY again in the future! On top of that it overclocks like a champ, I was able to hold stable at +225mhz on core and +1800mhz on memory with no issues. ... show more
