If you purchase this, ensure you do a test crimp on some scrap wire first. Mine came way too tight and smashed the connector too much, deforming the connector and smashing the insulation to a bare spot. I had to adjust it to the lightest setting and then it worked just fine. There is a phillips screw on the jaw that you remove and the little diagram says which way to turn it to tighten or loosen it. Then replace the phillips screw. I have one of the old cheap wire crimpers and wanted a better crimp. These have more surface area and do a better, more secure crimp.

I should have bought this 15 years ago. Seems silly to have such a one trick pony in the tool chest but it’s not. Buy it. Solid crimps every time. Every. Time.

Much better than the usual, cheap and thin pliers-type crimpers. This covers more of the connector, causing a more secure crimp all around. Seems sturdy.
