i was hesitant to buy these thinking they'd be too heavy, was surprised to get them and how light they were to hold, easy to put together. gave these to my niece and nephew for their birthday and was a hit, they use the nets at the river for catching fish, frogs, and so light they can catch butterflies with the nets. these are worth the money, won't disappoint and the colors are great. ... show more

My son wanted a net to catch frogs and turtles at our Cottage so we purchased this after looking at reviews. It is very lightweight which is excellent for a 5 year old. It worked great for 2 visits to the cottage but the third visit my son went to shorten the net and he noticed he could not push it down easily. The shaft was bench from using it, not in the water but just singing down at frogs (not even catching one). I was able to straighten it but then shortly after the glue came loose holding the net on the shaft. I ended up fixing it using an industrial waterproof adhesive from my work. I think they need to use a better adhesive when assembling this. We have not had an issue since using the other glue. We are careful with the net knowing the shaft bends easily. I guess that is the trade off for a lightweight aluminum net. ... show more

This net is excellent for kids and adults that are looking to be able to catch minnows and baby panfish first bait or even for landing panfish or trout. It breaks down really nicely so it easily fits in a standard size backpack. The net is heavier than it looks because of its all metal construction outside of the joint but it is still plenty light for backpacking trips. So far it seems plenty durable catching smaller baitfish but I have not tried to land anything larger than a bluegill with it. I would have absolutely loved this net when I was a kid trying to catch frogs and snakes and turtles. It is 1000x better than any Walmart butterfly net and it doesn’t cost too much more. ... show more

We have a koi pond with lots of frogs. My son and I “frog hunt” and catch frogs to look at in an aquarium. We are polite to the frogs. My son wants to see them close up. We release them shortly after catching. This net extends which is great for the job. We also being this with us fishing.

This kids net is built tough for kids. The aluminum pole adjust in length but doesn't lose any stability. I held it on the edge of the table and put a gallon of water in the net and it held up without tearing or bending the pole. It's great for kids and will make fishing fun. The size is just right for yrs old and up. Made for fishing but I think it would serve any little curious child adventurous spirit. Whether it be bringing in fish, crawdads, frogs or butterflies and other bugs this net is the perfect size. ... show more
