If you are like me, you put in a nest and got rid of the old stuff. but the old stuff was larger and you probably had a lazy painter who just painted around the old stuff so it was all the wrong color, and had ugly holes and such. Well this product is like a plastic dish that allows you to cover all that mess and still mount your nest. I have included my wire colors in case that helps you, you will need to remove and reinstall the wires to install this item. This item is much smaller than expected. I guess I should not have looked at the photo of the sofa where this is as big as the pillow, this is more the side of a side dish plate. It was not large enough to cover the rectangle of ugly that a normal thermostat left behind. If this was like a half inch or a full inch larger it would be great. It did come with screws and such but that was not even needed. Just used the existing ones. It went on with ease and does look much much better. My nest thermostat fits well in it; the instruction is straightforward. I had to disconnect the wires to pass them through the hole. Take pictures in advance to remember where they go. We have an earlier model Nest, earlier than 2020 and it did not work for us. Seems as though it “may” draw more attention to the Nest as it just a big piece of round plastic, but it looks like the newer 2020 Nests are larger and thinner from the pictures. $12.99 does seem high for what it is, but it may look nice with the new Nests. ... show more

The previous homeowner had some oversized old-school digital thermostats that were maybe twice as large as the Nest thermostats I replaced them with. Doing so left behind the old paint color that didn't match the newer color. Didn't want to have to deal with painting and especially risking to not having an exact color match, so I tried out Google's wall plate first. It's kind of ugly and shaped like a saucer to the Nest thermostat's cup shape. This PlusAcc wall plate is more attractive at a cheaper price point. First off, this comes with hardware and instructions, something not always common these days. We didn’t even need to use the included screws and anchors, but it’s nice to have them, if needed. We weren’t a big fan of the oval wall plate Google offers, so after some measurements, we decided to try this. This is large enough to cover holes left by our previous thermostat, so all that was needed was a tiny bit of touch-up painting, but no patching. It looks nice and doesn’t hinder the touch control on the thermostat. It does the job and is a good price, so if you like the looks of it, we recommend! ... show more
