The wallplate looks great, is thick and sturdy, and was fairly easy to install. It fit perfectly and covered up some previous wall damage from removal of the old large rectangular thermostat. Basically, it fit all the boxes on what I was looking for. When installing, I didn’t expect having to remove the entire thermostat and disconnect the wiring to put the faceplate behind it. I diligently noted what was attached where, but neglected to flip off the power to the thermostat. Don’t make the same mistake I did! Many people have told me since that they never shut off power when installing thermostats, but I managed to blow the fuse on my HVAC unit and was left without AC for a day until I could get the fuse replaced. Cheap fix, but could have easily been avoided.

Worked great when installing our nest. It is flush with the wall and doesn't jostle around. I was able to use the side screws without the nest face popping off, which seems like a common issue with the standard nest plate. I love that it matches exactly the color of our nest!

The cover is perfect at cover of the hole that was in the wall, where the previous thermostat was. It looks great on my wall and no issues would recommend in a great price.

First off I’m an electrician. I installed this in about 10 minutes including a separately bought wall mount. They include one though that’s actually pretty nice. This thermostat has saved us a lot of unnecessary heat usage. This thermostat learns what you set things to and gives you detailed ways to save more energy and money by setting it at different temps. My two favorite things though are I set it so when you walk by it tells you the current temp outside and gives you the forecast! I also love it learns what you like and it goes to that temp. Here’s a beware make sure you don’t have someone especially early on accidentally do something you wouldn’t normally do. It may remember that and you make come back to your house set at 85! I’ve heard of that story once because their kid accidentally touched the thermostat. Enjoy it’s actually cool looking and fun to set just be careful and make sure you turn off the power because low voltage cause still short out and blow a fuse in the furnace.

I hated the default rectangular white wall plate that came with my Nest Thermostat and thought this would be a cheap way to replace it. It really is just a circular piece of thin plastic but in my opinion it looks much better and is worth the extra cost. The metal support for my thermostat does not sit flush with my wall and sticks out a bit. A lot of the other wall plates requires a completely flat surface which would not have worked for me. This cover has just enough of a buffer to still sit flush with my wall (similar amount of space as the default Nest wall plate) even with the metal support sticking out a bit. I also purchased the Elago grip cover to change the color of the ring around the thermostat. The two items fit together along with the thermostat perfectly.

My previous thermostat was a square box so I was a little worried that this wasn't going to be big enough but it is exactly big enough to cover the previous markings on the wall. My previous one didn't have a whole lot more real-estate space than my nest. If you previous thermostat is a lot bigger than the Nest, this might not work for you. Good quality plastic. Good enough for this purpose. I didn't try but you could probably bend it if you tried but perfect for it's purpose. Was easy to install. It sits behind the Nest base during install so either install them at the same time or be aware that you will have to remove the Nest to install it. I got this because my neighbor has the Nest and used the rectangle cover that comes in the box. I can't handle the different shapes so I figured Amazon has to have something that is also circular. So glad I got this product.
