Worked as expected. Fit just fine and was super easy to install. Nothing to it and it makes the wall look much cleaner where the thermostat is installed. I'd purchase again.

    • These thermostats have an internal battery and won't connect unless it is charged!
Being very mechanically inclined (and experienced w/all manner of home improvements) this is a great add to your home. The instructions are helpful and wiring it up was fairly easy. The biggest issue I had was being unaware of the internal battery in the NEST thermostat. The battery has to be charged to a certain point or it will not connect to your WiFi even with the constant power wire feeding it (which charges the battery). I struggled with trying to determine why it would not connect to WiFi only to realize this later in the process. You can also expedite charging it by using the external port for a charger (seemed faster than waiting for hours). Nothing I found in the instructions mentioned anything about a low battery keeping you from completing the setup or connecting to WiFi so created this review to help anyone else that runs into it. Of the three I have installed, only one gave me this issue. You can check how much charge the battery has in the thermostat settings. Otherwise, easy installation, great product, and love the remote connectivity. Be sure to check for this if you run into any issues! ... show more

The Pros, good material the cover plate is made of, hard plastic (PVC) style...fit well over old hole in wall from the previous thermostat which I replaced with the Google NEST and looks great... for the Cons, I didn't find any and the price was what I wanted to pay for it... Over all a great face plate replacement when installing a NEST thermostat. ... show more

This is the third Nest thermostat I have installed and I love the product. I also have a nest protect which I also love. Installation is fairly simple.
