  • Good product for non-blue tooth customers
I’m someone who is always afraid those Bluetooth headphones are gonna fall out of my ears and I will lose them plus they cost too much. So I decided to give this product a try and I really like it. I listen to podcasts when I walk in the morning and just put it on, not having to think about it falling out. The quality is good. The battery life is good. It’s easy to charge and it’s my second one. The first one lasted about 10 years. This is a newer model than my first one and it’s improved in durability. I would say give it a try if you’re looking for a non-Bluetooth headphone for just one ear. I like to have my other ear open to better ear. Carr is coming while I’m walking. ... show more

  • Best small headset I've ever used
This is the only bluetooth earpiece I've ever liked. I bought the refurbished one, and it's fantastic. I've bought a number of the $25 to $35 bluetooth headsets recommended by Amazon. My experience with those has been less than stellar. They break easily, they drop connection to the phone, they're slow to pair when you turn them on, the sound quality isn't great, and the noise reduction isn't great. This headset is none of those things. This thing connects almost instantly when you power it on. The volume is nice and loud for a very clear sound. The noise reduction is shockingly good. I was in a warehouse under construction with someone using a skillsaw only a few yards away. The person I was on the phone with could hear me better than I could hear myself. They didn't even know I was standing near a saw that was in-use. The battery life is good. Not stellar, but much better than other devices I've used. It'll go 5 hours of talk time most days. The app you install on your phone actually lets you change useful settings on the device, and it updates the firmware. Firmware updates actually offer new features I like, so that was a pleasant surprise. Build quality is great. It feels solid and well constructed in your hand. That means it weighs a bit more than the cheap ones, but I prefer that. ... show more

  • Wow!!! The very first Bluetooth headset that performed as well as wired.
So full confession. I'm a Plantronics fan but my experience with Bluetooth headsets is very, very bad so I didn't really know what to expect from this device. I recently went through my desk drawer and counted over 7 devices I've purchased over the years, some has high as $250 like the original Jawbone, all of them were bad experiences compared to their wired counterparts. THIS IS THE VERY FIRST BLUETOOTH HEADSET I'VE EVER OWNED THAT PERFORMS AS GOOD AS A WIRED HEADSET!!!! Amazing!!! I definitely recommend getting refurb over the new device. You save a ton of money and with the exception of the silk screened "refurb" print on it, it's the same device. Get the extended warranty too. Here are the pros * Incredible Audio quality. Turn on the high-def feature. You need the PC or Smartphone app to do this. It cuts the battery life by 40% but worth it in my view. * Noise cancelling mic is amazing. I tested it by recording myself on my two phone (One droid the other iPhone) and played it back. Try testing it by turning on nearby water faucet or in my case, turn on the shower while you're speaking. The outdoor noise cancelling is also amazing. I was outside my car pumping gas and I asked the other person if he could hear the background traffic with the new headset then got back into my quiet car and he said the difference was hardly detectable. * Battery life is amazing too. Without High def you get 6 hours of talk time. With high def you get about 4. The phone charges though to 80% withing 40 minutes so charging is also quick. * Distance from the phone is also good but note that the version of Bluetooth on your phone matters. My older droid(2012 droid maxx) had a line of sight distance of about 35' but my newer iPhone 7 had a line of sight distance of over 50' * the button controls on the earpiece also work well with Siri. Just make sure you configure Siri to work when the screen is locked other wise the phone won't respond when you press the button on the earpiece. It supports Alexa too but I don't use Alexa so I can't comment on it but if it compares at all to Siri performance, it will be a good match. * The best is last. The device has a rudimentary voice control activation which lets you answer calls or decline them. I didn't know that this feature was available. Paired with the iPhone 7's voice announcement feature, I can hear who is calling without taking the phone out of my pocket or returning to my desk to see who is calling. I just say "Answer" or "decline" and the headset will tell the phone whether to pick up or send the call to voicemail. My only nitpick is the earbud. The venerable Plantronics Starset earpieces are what I first started out with when I worked 12 hour shifts at call centers. Air traffic controllers use the same earpiece. They set the standard for long wear and comfort. The Starset's in the ear bud is so comfortable that you forget you're wearing it. It also blocks external noise. The current selection of on-the-ear buds that all consumer headsets use just don't measure up to the in-the-ear buds. But if you've never experienced an in-the-ear bud then this is something you won't miss so it's a minor nitpick. I just wish Plantronics would make this available for their Voyager series. Probably will never happen though because they look ugly and with today's consumer putting more of a premium on looks rather than function, I can't see this ever coming back. But one can only hope. ... show more

  • Don't fool around trying other headsets
The Plantronics Voyager 5200 is the exact Bluetooth headset I was looking for to use while working. I tried a few Bluetooth headsets and ended up sending each one back. Until I came across this one. The audio quality is amazing, I can hear who I'm talking to perfectly. Even music sounds very good compared to other headsets, it's the best one I've tried. Battery life is pretty decent. I can get through a full day on a single charge most of the time, depending on how many phone calls and how much I'm listening to music. Voice commands are super convenient and so helpful when I have my hands full. I am happy to say also that the headset doesn't hurt my ears! That's been a huge issue with other headsets. I recommend this headset for anyone that looking for one. You won't be disappointed! ... show more

  • Not sure if it’s ehh because it was a refurb...
Not sure if it’s ehh because it was a refurb or if it is just not that great of a headset. The sound quality at times is down right awful. The noise cancelation is top notch for the quality of sound for the person I am talking to though. I work in a factory and people don’t often know that a whole bunch of ruckus is going on around me. Eat tips don’t stay in my ear. Used Sugru to make a custom molded ear piece to solve that problem. Over all, I might end up buying a brand new one to see if it’s just the one I have. ... show more
