Got this for my brother for Christmas and he loves it! He only got 3 to sprout but I know he’s had a great time. Very cool they are all different types. Came with good instructions on how to germinate/ prep the seeds to get them to sprout.

Box is a nice piece of wood and can be presented as is, with a ribbon. The seeds and kit are pretty standard for a starter kit, but presents well as a gift.

Really fun kit and great value for getting started with bonsai. It comes with everything you need: pots, soil discs, clippers, and seeds for 5 different trees. Makes an awesome gift and the packaging looks premium. I'm giving 3 stars because while all 5 seed types did germinate for me, the germination rate was pretty low. You get a lot of seeds but only a few from each pack actually sprouted. The instructions were decent but could use more detail for first-timers. Overall still happy and it's been a relaxing project.

I love plants, have over 30 different varieties, so I wanted to give this kit the old college try. Now, I thought 40 bucks was a little pricey for a grow kit, but the reviews were pretty good, so I pulled the trigger. Got it in, and was honestly impressed. They give you everything you need to make this happen and VERY clear and easy to follow directions, along with more information on each variety. I’ve seen other seed packages that are just the seeds in a bag with no other information, so good luck on getting them to germinate…not a problem here. As per the instructions, I laid out five bowls with a bit of water and soaked each type of seed for roughly about 24 hours. Set up each planter with the provided dehydrated soil, and planted each seed. The instructions will tell you the proper depth and whatnot needed for each variety. One quick note - you clearly do not have to plant ALL these seeds. In fact, the instructions pretty much say to not to, but I did anyway as I wasn’t sure what kind of germination rate I’d get. Well, you can see for yourself in the picture that exactly 8 days in, I have 17 sprouts across four of the five varieties. The fifth doesn’t have any action at this point but given the success rate of the others I’m confident it will. Because of how tightly I placed the seeds and the germination rate, I’ll have to transfer these a bit sooner than you would if you only planted a couple per bag, but hey, not a big deal and lesson learned. I’m really excited to watch these grow and learn how to maintain them and add them to the rest of my plant collection. I said earlier I thought the kit was a little pricey, but honestly, with the instructions, everything provided, and the success rate I’ve seen, I think it was worth it. Plus, after I transfer these trees I’ll be able to fill the box with soil and continue to use it to germinate other seeds or propagate other plants. TLDR: let the picture speak for itself 8 days in.
