These are perfect for what I intended there used to be. They are a great compact size, hold a good amount of shells, are stackable, made out of rugged plastic they are definitely not cheap although they are extremely affordable.

If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to a metal ammo can, this Plano ammo box is solid. The construction is great and it seems very sturdy.
