For the supposed benefits you lose durability. Have old 3700s over 30 years old that when they have problems it's usually broken hinges and latches over time. A lot of time. None are cracked over years of use. Don't know if you could crack them. Received the rustrictor with the corner cracked off the lid. The material is brittle compared to standard versions. Also isn't clear but opaque. Another thing is how you can split the compartments. The thin version won't allow equal size compartments across the rows. One has to be larger than all the others in each row. I do love the new latch system on these and the new standard versions. ... show more

Bought a similar 3500 model earlier that felt really solid so I decided to buy the Rustrictor version since I don't see the old one on Amazon anymore. This new one has a lot of plastic squeaking noises when I open and close it.

I'm a bit harsh on this storage box because the description is misleading. Specifically, the dimensions are for the exterior of the case. I needed a case that would hold a 14" long item, but the interior dimensions couldn't handle it. Inside, the case measures 13 5/8" X 8 3/8" X 3". Now those measurements don't account for the dividers, of which there are four fixed ones length-wise. ... show more
