  • Must have!
Color: Orange Style: Snoop
Update: 11/13/16 I've now had this just over two years and it is finally starting to show some wear on the edges of the funnel that is normally folded into the bowl. It still functions just fine, but there are a couple cracks at the edge. I bought a second one earlier this year as a replacement but haven't used it yet. I decided, tonight, that I'd throw out the old one next trash night. lol In my original review, I mentioned that I pick the dispenser up immediately after she finishes eating. It's been clear that she isn't going to massacre it, so I'm not as vigilant at picking it up. Sometimes, she'll have it all day while I'm at work. She'll greet me at the door with it hanging from her mouth while her butt wiggles in greeting. It's quite the sight. A bubble-headed, wiggle butt. Love this! I haven't found anything I like better. *Original Post* I really love this treat/food dispenser. My dog gulps her food and has some other behavioral issues. A different treat dispenser was recommended by a trainer and I wasn't impressed with that one. So I did some research and came across this one. I already have the Orbee Diamond Plate ball which my dog has been unable to destroy over several months (and she destroys most balls within minutes). Already impressed with Orbee, I decided to give this dispenser a shot. Based on the reviews, I knew this could be destroyed as it's not meant to be a chew toy. Generally, as soon as my dog is done eating, I remove the dispenser. However, there have been several occasions where I haven't done so, and she has not chewed it up. I don't know why, but once she gets all the food from it, she's done with it and leaves it alone. I'm not complaining because it's too expensive to keep buying them. The first few tips of the dispenser will offer a rather generous payload, but I see that as a good thing as that initial success keeps her trying--even when there are only one or two pieces of kibble to get out at the end. Because this is a soft material, it is flexible and provides some decent bounce. It's quite fun to watch her grip it in her teeth (it looks like some bubble-head muzzle when she does this), lift her head, and slam it to the ground to bounce out the stubborn kibble at the end. She's also discovered that if she gets on the sofa or bed, it drops farther and has more impact thereby dislodging any kibble that might get stuck in the tiny hole on the bottom. It's good fun to watch her antics and nice to know that she isn't gulping her food. It normally takes her between 15-20 minutes to get every last piece out versus the 2-3 minutes when she inhales it out of a bowl. I mentioned the tiny hole at the bottom. I was concerned that the smaller pieces of kibble would trickle out. My dog eats Blue Buffalo with Lifesource Bits. The Bits are very tiny (smaller than a pea) and would easily fit through the small hole; however, this does not appear to be the case. Generally, a larger kibble will get wedged in the hole and prevents the smaller one from getting out that way. My dog gets 1 to 1.25 cups of food twice a day (depending on her activity levels), and I have had no trouble fitting either of those quantities in the dispenser. As I already mentioned, the first few rolls of the dispenser will eject a higher payload and the more food I put in, the higher the initial payoff. Some reviewers have complained about the dispenser gathering a lot of carpet fuzz and dust bunnies. This is true. I run the dispenser through very hot water every other day after she eats in the morning and by her night time feeding, it's dry. Then about twice a week, I add dish detergent and shake it up to clean it really well. Food is easy to put in this. The plastic (or whatever material it is) is folded down in so it's more of a half-moon ball. When it's on the flat side, it challenges the dog to figure out how to roll it back to the bouncier, rounder side. Anyhow, the folded down part can be rolled out and functions as a tube through which I add the food. Then I just roll it back in on itself and voila! 15-20 minutes of food and fun. Because of the material, this is quite a quiet dispenser which is nice when I have to feed the dog at 5:30 in the morning and don't want to wake up the rest of the house. I have tile, laminate flooring and carpeting, so she can transition amongst the three without any major noise difference. I've had this for a couple months now, and she still loves it, and it is holding up quite well. Again, despite being a chewer, she seems to leave this alone once she gets the food out (It appears I'm lucky in this). ... show more

  • My dogs (35 lbs and 15 lbs) both love these and they seem indestructable (better than the Kong)
Color: Royal Blue Style: Lil Snoop
Both of my dogs love these. My 15 lb maltese/yorkie mix shredded his Kong, but he has not done any damage to the Lil' Snoop. They don't occupy the dog as long as I would like in a perfect world, but they work great for putting their food in or treats. If I put a few small treats in, it might take 5 minutes or so for them to work their way out. Regardless the dogs find these really fun to play with even if no treats are in them, and the treats make it all the better for them. What's even greater is that they are super quiet toys. Happy I found these. ... show more

  • A godsend for motivated chewers
Color: Blue Style: Snoop
Our dog is obsessed with this thing. It keeps her busy for up to an hour. It’s mentally engaging and durable enough for a very heavy chewer. It’s clean to use and easy to clean—we are parting with kongs for good. She lost hers this morning (long story) and I ordered another right away.

  • Dogs Love
Color: Blue Style: Snoop
My super chewer/treat obsessed dogs LOVE these. This toy is the one that keeps my dogs occupied for the longest- my 85 lb goldendoodle eats any bone in less than 3 minutes, with this toy I can wedge a treat in and it’ll easily keep him entertained for 30+ minutes. Only cons are it gets super wet and messy from him trying to lick the treat out and it’s not super durable - my little super chewer (10lb Wiener Dog) resorts to just ripping the ball when she can’t get her treat out. ... show more

  • Great with kibble or small treats
Color: Orange Style: Links
I purchased this for my bull terrier. You can try different configurations to make the task easier or harder. It's soft enough that it doesn't really make much noise on a wooden floor, even if the dog whacks it about, but robust enough to withstand some chewing while the dog plays with it. I never let my dog play with it unsupervised, so it's never had to deal with more serious chewing (although this dog looses interest in food dispensing toys once they're empty - but she does destroy most other toys, so why risk it). We also use the Snoop from Planet Dog. My dog loves them both; the Snoop, if used with kibble or small treats, will project these further away and potentially under the furniture, so I may prefer the Link to it, as I am not left retrieving kibble from underneath the wardrobe quite as often. ... show more

  • Loved it but I have a heavy chewer
Color: Orange Style: Snoop
Was hoping this product would be so great that my 1.5 year old doberman who is notorious for burning through toys would let this one live. It lasted 2 weeks in my house </3 Would not recommend for heavy chewers - otherwise it was great and kept him entertained for about 20 min

  • Great toy, depending on the dog
Color: Orange Style: Snoop
One of my dogs goes NUTs for this, the other gives up too easy. Very durable. Holds and dispenses good-sized treats. Could actually feed a whole meal out of it.

  • Hope it lasts
Color: Green Style: Mazee
Our dog loves this toy, with or without treats, so much so that as seen in the photos, the plastic maze has been compromised, there was a piece broken before these two, now the maze works off kilter, there are larger broken pieces inside. Not complaining necessarily, he does rough house with it, maybe more so than its intended usage. It's a good size for him, shepherd/hound, the rubber ball has not been breached, and even if the maze completely collapses it can still work as a treat dispenser. It's hard to rate it because it's ongoing, but overall he loves it. ... show more
