These lights are just perfect. The packaging, the bag, that comes with it, lights, and poles. Everything is high quality. The remote works without delays, right away, and you don't need to pair it with lights. its already paired. So many different modes. it doesn't come with battery, but believe me, you don't need it anyway. it comes with AC power supply, so just use maybe 500-600 wh portable power station, and you'll get about 3 hours of non stop use ... show more

The good: - Great brightness - RGB for creating interesting highlights - Built in barn doors for directionality - Good range of color temperature options - Solid warranty response - Passively cooled (no fan noise!) The Bad: Horrendous mosfet/coil whine. Like earsplittingly loud, when in between the brightness ranges of 15-90%, and anything with a strong blue color tinge. It wouldn't be an issue for older folk, or people with poor hearing, but for me the majority of the brightness range is unusable as well as most of the RGB mode. I can confirm that versions v51_09 and v50_08 (which will pop up on the screen as the light is booting up) are effected. At first I thought that it was simply a problem of getting a bad batch of lights and I reached out to the warranty department, who quickly sent out replacements. But after getting replacements of a different hardware revision and much different manufacturing date that still had the same problem, I believe that it's simply a design flaw with the hardware. The Ugly: I went as far as attaching heatsinks to all of the coils and mosfets on one of the replacement units the warranty department sent me to see if that was enough to mitigate the issue, but it didn't even drop it a few db to my ear. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. 4.5 but rounded up due to overall build quality & reliability the case - top notch fort knox the stands - quality but standard the lights - amazing sturdiness, consistency, & functionality/brightness the remote - fav yet. large, responsive, extensive the cables - 10ft long from wall, 3.75ft from box to light batteries - not provided but lights can work wirelessly the settings/features - just what i needed.. 2x rgb gradients, & a bunch of other random patterns utilizing rgb options and even the white, bright to tungstens, and full custom control of 48 channels with 6 sub-channels sturdiness - as long as you tighten the stands, these things arent moving worth it? imo, yes! having 2 sq ft of controllable rgb/white lights using led's that have the side flappy light guides is so awesome. i used to have 3-5 tiny rgb lights to try and make things work, but between all the smaller lights and tripods needed for those, these help replace more equipment and are easier to maneuver & use. the video i shared goes through the light settings / scenes, and i give my $0.02 on everything.. nonetheless, i'm stoked on these. ... show more

This Pixel K80 2 pack is another solid RGB light kit from Pixel. With a color temperature range from 2600K - 10,000K, these lights offer are wider range that other kits I’ve seen (3300K-5800K). Using the attached barn doors, directing the light is also much easier. I like that these lights offer RGB colors without the need for gels, and the color temperature mode (CCT) is separate from the RGB mode (HSI). I like that I can quickly find a specific color temp when setting my scenes. With an all metal design, these lights are well built & shouldn’t have any problem dispersing any heat that my arise with extended use. The included metal stands are adjustable and can be using independently as they both have a 1/4” screw head on top, so you can attach a camera or camera mount to them. Using the included remote control or the light controls, both lights can be synced and controlled as a group. When both lights are on the same Channel Number or Group Letter, you can adjust the color, brightness & color temperature at the same time all wirelessly. Not to confuse you, they can each be set to different colors, brightness & color temperatures. The remote control is backlit and works using 2 AAA batteries (not included). I’m glad AAA batteries were used over a coin battery as AAA batteries are easier to find around the house. While the kit does come with a storage bag (with shoulder strap), the bag itself is a little on the heavy size. That weight is probably due to the heavy duty protective padding on all sides. There is still a lot of room available for other items with everything inside the bag.     • Very Bright Lights for the Money
I bought 4 of these lights in two 2-packs. The lights are bright much better than more expensive brands that I have tried. The build quality is good. The light frame is aluminum and light weight. The control over the color temperature is good. The lighting options for flashing lights in multiple colors emulating police, fire, etc. works fine but not useful to me at this time. The 360 degree color adjustment works fine. My only complaint is that the lights do not attach to the light stand securely. The depth of the socket used to attach to the light stand stud is not deep enough. The screw threads at the top of the light stand stud hit the bottom of the light socket so it does not fit down deep enough over the stud so that the thumb screw can tighten up against the stud properly. A simple fix by Pixel if they want to send me revised sockets. ... show more
