  • Strong and functional
This Gsblunie 5-Tine Heavy Duty Pitchfork with Tilt Bracket is surprisingly sturdy and well made -- I'm always a little skeptical about handles that come in sections since the connections can be real weak points, but this item is very well designed and I'm confident the connections will hold at the middle of the handle and at the attachment to the fork. The pry bracket works and really sets this apart from my old pitchfork. The tines are pretty sturdy with just a little sideways spring to them, and I expect them to hold up in normal sod and soil (maybe not my rockiest places, but that would be an unreasonable expectation). This an excellent pitchfork, and priced better than I'd expect for the quality. ... show more

  • Works as it is supposed to.
Fairly well manufactured (rated4/5*). It does the job as advertised. I turned my raised beds with it and it held up well. It's a great alternative to a mini tiller and actually turned the soil deeper than my tiller would (rated5/5*). We'll see how the crops turn out this year.

  • Solid, heavy duty tool for breaking up dirt.
This fork is solidly built and has no problem breaking up dirt. The fact that it's very heavy might be a drawback for smaller or weaker people, but they probably won't be doing this type of work anyway. If your dirt is very dry and hard like mine is you may want to soften it first by spraying it with water. If you don't you better be heavy enough to push it into the hard ground or you won't get very far. I'm not that big so even jumping on it wouldn't get me more than about 2 in deep without prior softening so keep that in mind. But even forcing it into very hard dirt it had no problem tearing it up with no visible of effect on the fork. So I have no fear of the fork failing in any way while using it. The handle is extremely solid, helped by the fact that it doesn't just screw together, it goes partially into the other piece before it screws together for additional support. This is a very good design that greatly reduces the chance of breakage where the screw joints are. The handle goes together easily and it's comfortable to hold. The only recommendation I could make for a very minor improvement is that it comes with little rubber plastic tubes to stick over the tips of the fork which is a bit of a hassle to remove and reattach when you're done. A better solution to protecting the tips and whatever they are standing on would be a one piece plastic or silicone cover that would go over all of the tips at one time so it would be one removal and one reattachment instead of many. But that has no impact on using the tool and the tool is excellent. I hope this helps. Thanks for reading and liking. ... show more

  • Sturdy and works great
I live on a farm so digging dirt is a frequent thing. We happen to love dahlias and since we have the space we have quite a few. In our climate zone we have to dig up the tubers every fall and store them inside. I’ve found a garden fork to work about the best. Between the flat tines and only a slight curve to them it takes a number of insertions to dig each one up. I saw this fork and it looked like it might work better. My only concern was the the narrow tines might damage the tubers. I quickly realized that any damage was minimal and the narrow tines required much less effort. It has what I guess they refer to as a tilt bracket that acts like a fulcrum which makes lifting the tubers really easy. After digging up 80 dahlias I really love this tool. I can see where it would be great for loosening garden soil. ... show more

  • Works as Expected
I live in Southern California and the dirt of my land is not well hydrated. This pitchfork would be useless in my soil except that it has the foot leverage to give that extra push. I feel like this would be better if the handle were longer, but it gets the job done. Very sturdy and good value.

  • Sigh…
Both tools “failed” in the same way and within the first hour’s use. They were of some use but I don’t expect them to last one season. I’ll know better next time.

  • Solid and well constructed with excellent weight.
This has exceeded my expectations in every way! First off, the assembly was a breeze. It's solidly constructed, featuring comfortable rubber and foam grips strategically placed around the handle and shaft for optimum ease of use. The weight is just right – not too heavy to cause strain, but substantial enough to get the job done effectively. One feature that stands out is the excellent tilt bracket/step bar. It allows for generating more downward force when needed, making tough gardening tasks much easier. Plus, the bright color choice is a genius decision. Unlike green tools that tend to vanish into the foliage(hide and go seek anyone), this pitch fork is easy to spot whenever left in the garden or yard. For reference, I am 6 feet tall and the top of the handle stands about my beltline when resting on hard concrete and standing vertically. It’s an ideal height for comfortable use without constant bending. I've primarily used it for loosening and removing small rock debris and roots, as well as general soil loosening, and it has proven to be incredibly effective. In conclusion, this gardening pitch fork is an outstanding tool that has quickly become my go-to in the garden. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to make their gardening tasks a bit easier. ... show more

  • Fantastic for Composting and Everyday Use
I originally picked this up for turning my compost, and it works great for that. But I can already tell I'm going to be using this pitchfork for a lot more than that. It's super sturdy and definitely multi-functional. I have a lot of harder earth and tough-to-deal-with turf in my yard and garden, but this makes super short work of all of it. The fork itself is super tough and durable, and the step bar makes it a cinch to really get it down in where it needs to be to do the job. This was very easy to assemble, too. You just screw the components together, and you're ready to race in just a minute or two. The design is also ergonomically sound and very easy to use. It honestly takes a lot of the labor out of dirtier garden tasks, and I can tell I'll be reaching for this a lot in the future. Wonderful tool that I definitely recommend! ... show more
