I have a sled-body repair project for a 77' Bombardier Bombi BR100 and these tools were the ticket for hammering out the dings around the buffering ram of the sled body. The hammers were lighter than expected, however, I used a heavy ball-peen hammer against the head ends of these hammers and got great results! Definitely doesn’t have the weight, quality and feel of the more expensive sets out there on the market. I do not recommend for use in a profession collision shop setting. For your average DIY usage at home, it will suffice.

You can easily dig into this metal, NOT HARDENED, PERIOD!!!!! So that is untrue! I found a 30 year old set I had lost after buying these and these are tiny next to my old ones and they came from a discount tool company and no manufacturer even on the box, but much better and hardened, un file-able, period!!! So would only be usable on tiny dents and dings. Even all the shaping dies are tiny, half the weight. So here we go again with EVERYTHING CHEAP AND DOWNSIZED LIKE WE DON'T NOTICE!!!!!!! I will NEVER buy from ANY company playing this STUPID game like we don't know, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more

I do a little bit of automotive work on my own cars, including dent repair, but I am by no means a professional. I got this kit for doing light sheet metal shaping, and it seems well suited for this. At my beginner level this feels like a good option. The finish level is decent, all the striking faces are reasonably smooth and seem to be shaped well. The hammers are fairly light weight, which I think is fine for small workpieces. For large areas or heavier materials they would probably not be the right choice. I used the tools to repair a fender dent in one of my cars. I first pulled the dent with a suction cup tool, but this alone was not enough as the stretched metal would easily pop back to the dented position. I was able to use the hammer to gently shrink the stretched areas so the panel stays in the correct shape. The faces of the hammers are smooth (they appear to have a clear coating applied, not sure how long that will last) and did not damage the paint on the panel. The styrofoam container the tools came in was cracked during shipping and is not really suitable as a storage container, but I don't really expect hammers and blocks of steel to suffer much from not having a safe storage container. As a beginner I'm happy with this set, it seems durable enough to last a lifetime of hobby-level work and includes a wide variety. ... show more

Great little set of tooling to have around, I used mine for crafting actually hammering out silver wire and curving sheets. The handles are nice and solid feeling and the anvils/backer blocks are a great size, one of them does have minor pitting or voiding during the casting before machining but it really is very minor, like half the size of a grain of rice so really no concern at all in the grand scheme of things. Definitely would suggest this kit if you think you can use it, even for slightly different reasons than intended like what I did. ... show more
