I have been using Pitaka products for iPhones for several years now, as they remain incredibly sleek yet provide good protection from the back of the phones getting cracked. When I was given the option to try out the iPad pro version, I jumped at it! The good: My main concern when purchasing the case was constantly switching between the pitaka case and the native iphone floating keyboard case - thankfully, theres no need! The pitaka case is sleek enough that i still continues to function with the apple case and the pitaka case on together. that is awesome! I also haven't feel it at too much additional weight, though it definitely adds some. What I really like though is the charging mechanism. The charging 'puck' that comes with the case has a really strong magnet, and because you can't really see the puck when you're trying to charge it that is fantastic because you don't have to fiddle around too much with it - simply hover the ipad over the puck with a light grip and the puck and ipad will pull themselves toward each other. I haven't measured the charge speed, but it is quite convenient. Now, instead of switching between my macbook and ipad, i leave the charging puck on my desk and just quickly charge whenever I need it. The case also looks very good. I usually dont take my ipad off of the floating keyboard because I dont want to drop it and damage it, but now I find myself doing it much more knowing that I have an additional layer of protection on it so I can leave it on a kitchen table or in the family room where my kids may get to it. For those of you like me who want to keep their electronics in pristine condition, this is a really nice benefit as it adds a new dimension on how I use my ipad pro. Oh, and I have the 2018 iPad pro 12.9, one of the original. It fits the case just fine. The not so good: The mechanism to charge if you don't have the puck is a little wonky. There is a piece of plastic covering the USB-C charger, which makes sense because there is a connector that routes power from the magnet into that port. However, its not a flap, or even a hinge. I worry that I will break the piece off if trying to charge with a regular USB-C connector with the case on. I felt like I needed to take the case off to charge the regular way, however maybe the plastic is strong enough (but I didn't want to risk it because of the price of the case). Fit and finish: Generally excellent, though a little loose around two edges. I think this may be by design, and the ipad is very secure, but still it felt just a tad loose. Overall a recommended buy!

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, PITAKA’s gone a step further and made an already great case even better… I’ve owned the original MagEZ Case 2 without wireless charging for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly protecting my iPad without so much as a scratch, however when I saw that they added wireless charging capabilities to this new one I just knew I had to have it. Not only does this new case feel that much more robust and sturdy, the addition of wireless charging along with the included magnetic charger alone is totally worth the upgrade. The charger snaps on securely and charges my iPad Pro (2021) super fast, and the convenience of simply attaching the magnetic charger instead of fumbling with an archaic plug has spoiled me such that I don’t think I can ever go back. An added benefit is that the magnetic charger also attaches directly to the original MagEZ Stand quite firmly in fact (see attached video), thus providing wireless charging capabilities without a need to upgrade! However, keep in mind that the charging puck does move ever so slightly but not so much that I’m worried it or the iPad will fall off. To prevent this I added a thin strip of double-sided 3M tape between the charger and the Stand, and now there is absolutely no movement whatsoever and no worry that either will fall off. Oh, and it works with the Magic Keyboard too! I can now flow freely and easily between the MagEZ Stand and my Magic Keyboard without having to mess with any cords. Combine that with the FlipBook Case and you’ll have the ultimate portable package. Overall, I’d give this case a 10/10 but it is still too early to comment on its durability or longevity considering I’ve only had it a couple of days. However, if it’s anything like their previous case I am sure it’ll prove to be an excellent and worthwhile investment for anyone looking for a functional, aesthetically pleasing case with wireless charging capabilities with Apple-like quality.

I've been a fan Pitaka's products for my iPhone for the last 4-5 years, and, when I heard that they had a wireless-esque charging case, I figured I'd give it a try. Overall this matches the expectations I have become used to with Pitaka's products; well made, light, and an understated but high-quality carbon fiber-based look, with the option to give it a bit more flare with the colorful weave options. That it is easily compatible with Apple's Magic Keyboard was what clinched it for me, as I wanted something that would protect my iPad without being cumbersome or having issues connecting to the keyboard. It has a handy cover for the USB-C port that can easily be removed for charging with a standard USB-C cord while remaining in case and attached to the keyboard--the way I typically charge. It also has a charging dock that magnetically attaches to the case, though you have to remove the iPad from the keyboard. Not a huge deal to me as the case is so good-looking that I don't mind charging the unit either way. My hope is future products might come with rubberized or even carbon fiber sides (vs the current plastic) to match the case fully. And hopefully, fully wireless is an option in the near future as the technology gets better. But, in the meantime, this does an excellent job of protecting your iPad without being cumbersome, looking good while doing so, and providing a novel and standard way of charging your iPad.

While I love the thin case for use with the Apple keyboard, this case only uses Pitaka's priory "wireless-like" charging adapter...you cannot use standard wireless Qi charging pads... which means you always have to have a Pitaka charging pad or charging stand available to do wireless-like charging... yes you can charge via the iPad's built in USB-C port, but only if you unplug the case adapter first, which requires some effort, and will eventually snap off if you use that too much... add to this that Pitaka is out of additional charging pads, so you have to purchase the more expensive charging stand...if you have three rooms in the house you are out of luck, unless you plan to carry the charging pad around with you... at least they took my advice and got rid of the split tabs at the bottom of the case so less chance of those cracking off after a couple years of use... Pitaka, when will you get some more charing pads in stock? And maybe wrap the cable to the charger like most good USB-C cables have now days...

After setting up, it chargers for about 30 seconds than stops. Tried multiple times even different outlets and plugs Bought a more expensive one and it works flawlessly UPDATE: seller was concerned and sent me a second one no charge. He tried to troubleshoot and I was unable to get it to work with ipad pro 2022. I would buy from seller again mainly because he really tried to help me, and maybe it was just an issue on my end.

So overall I like the look and feel of the case. It feels good to touch. It looks good. The buttons work well. It is lightweight and the case feels like it will be durable. I had a charging port break on a previous Ipad so being able to plug it in once and charge wirelessly was valuable to me. I do wish that the case was protected on all sides instead of on 3. I worry about dropping the ipad on the unprotected side and then getting an unfixable dent. Putting it in the folio 2 mostly solves this but I still sometimes need to take it out to put it on another type of holder. When combined with the folio 2, one thing I noticed was that since the front cover is magnetized a little bit and the bottom protrudes out a bit, to open the front cover you need to use the slight edge at the top of the cover front cover to open it. One issue is that there is no easy way to charge it while it is being used with the folio 2 since the wireless charging pad is on the back. While you could still plug it in with the regular port, but that defeats the purpose of having the wireless charging capability. Also, the tension on the closing flap is a bit strong, so I'm a bit nervous about pulling it back to be able to plug something in. What would be ideal is if there was a magnetic way to charge the Ipad from the side in addition to the back. Hopefully, they can add this feature in a new version.

I love this Pitaka case. It's very light, yet protective. The magnets on the back are very strong and I feel completely safe when I place my 12.9" iPad Pro in this case on the magnetic stand. There's no fear of it falling off accidentally. The carbon fiber is very quality and has a soft feel to the touch. Putting the iPad into the case is very easy with no struggle whatsoever. I love that the case is compatible with Magic Keyboard and MagEZ stand. The USB-C port at the bottom is nicely protected but the cover can be easily swung out should you take the iPad with you when traveling without the magnetic charging stand and want to use a cable to charge it. The power and volume buttons have perfect placement and work as intended. I am very happy with the case overall and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a premium case to protect their iPad 12.9". It's not a cheap case, but neither is the iPad and if you want quality that lasts, this case has it in spades.
