Got the reel in Saturday afternoon took it out Sunday morning. I put 10lb braid on it to a 6lb leader and used it on 2 different rods to pinpoint exactly where I want it to fit into my arsenal. Between the rods I used a BNM 410 and a Ozark Trail OTX medium. The reel felt good for both rods ultralight and light/medium. It really shined with lures from 1/16 - 1/4 oz. even got it to The brakes work amazingly well and spool tension knob is designed to help anglers grip it easily even with wet fingers. Compared to other reels at the price point it is quiet really quiet when light casting even when you open her up for a deep cast. Its feels like a feather on the rod and a nice little wrist flick goes a long way. At the price point its the best bang for your buck. The durability I'll give an update in a few months but I have 2 Torrent 2 200's, Alijoz 300 and 400 and they've been to war and back with no problems so I have high hopes for this little monster.

After several hours of casting, I experienced noticeably less wrist fatigue compared to some of my heavier baitcasters. The frame feels solid and well-constructed with no flexing under pressure, and the finish looks clean and durable. The knobs are comfortable, and the handle has a smooth, controlled feel during retrieve. Casting Performance: The casting system is where this reel really shines. The braking system is easy to dial in, making it approachable for beginners while still offering enough adjustment for experienced anglers who like to fine-tune their setup. After a few test casts to adjust tension and brakes, I was able to achieve impressive casting distance with minimal backlash. It handles lighter lures especially well, which is not always the case with baitcasters in this category. Pitching and short-distance target casting felt accurate and controlled. Smooth low-budget reel! I'm really liking how it looks on my rod and it's palmable and comfortable. I don't like the fonts on "TORRENT Lite" as it looks outdated/lazy if you know what I mean. Maybe in the next model, change the font to make it looks modern and bold..?? Performance wise, I can't say much about it yet for bass season isn't open until in a few months. This is a really nice looking reel for someone who is on a low budget.

The media could not be loaded. I am genuinely impressed with this low profile baitcasting reel and can’t wait to get it on the water once everything thaws out! Lightweight & Comfortable for All-Day Fishing The first thing I noticed was how compact and lightweight it is. You can see from the photo how comfortably it fits in the palm of my hand. The low profile design makes it feel balanced and easy to palm, which is critical when you're fishing all day. The weight and ergonomics should allow for minimal fatigue regardless of technique — whether you’re working plastics, throwing moving baits, or fishing heavier cover. Smooth Performance Even without line spooled on yet, the reel turns very smoothly. It has 10 ball bearings, and you can feel that smoothness immediately when reeling. Based on how it feels out of the box, I have no reason to believe it won’t perform just as smoothly once it’s lined up and in action. Magnetic Braking System – Great for All Skill Levels The magnetic braking adjustment is easy to dial in. I typically keep mine set around the middle, which optimizes casting distance while still preventing backlashes. If you’re newer to baitcasters, I’d recommend starting closer to maximum braking until you get comfortable. As your thumb control improves, you can gradually back it off for longer casts. That flexibility makes this reel suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers. 7.1:1 Gear Ratio – The Most Versatile Choice The 7.1:1 gear ratio is, in my opinion, the most versatile option if you’re only going to own one baitcasting reel. Fast enough to quickly set the hook and pull fish out of heavy vegetation when fishing a Texas rig Quick enough to pick up slack line efficiently Yet still manageable for slow rolling spinnerbaits or working crankbaits That versatility makes it a strong all-around bass fishing reel. Build & Design The side plate adjustment is simple and intuitive, and the reel feels solid and well made for this price range. The color is also very sharp — it looks great mounted on a rod. It feels well built, smooth, comfortable in hand, and extremely versatile.
