This was supposed to be a “beater” real for fishing in the boat harbor or off the rocks at ocean. We have reels that cost hundreds of dollars and this reel is just as good. In a way, we have less anxiety with this reel because of our low expectations. If it breaks or seizes up due to salt water corrosion then we won’t feel so bad. But with proper care (rinsing and cleaning) it has caught plenty of fish including barracuda and bonito and keeps impressing. It is so good that we paired it with an expensive Phenix rod and the combo is terrific. Admittedly we are snobs for pricey equipment but this brand is the real deal. ... show more

This reel has performed flawlessly so far. It doesn’t feel like a premium reel(material wise) but it is super smooth, easy to cast, great drag system, clicking spool tension knob, and easy to adjust the breaks. Can’t complain at all. To me it looks like a cool reel and I’ll probably get another

It's an okay reel it's cheap so don't expect much. But I've had it and used it off and on for about a year and it is still working fine so it lasts. It's nothing special though.
