Haven’t used it yet but the quality seems to be great! Came with its own tool! Clicker is loud! Say goodbye to those pesky shark alarms! Can’t wait to take it out and try to catch some Monsters! I’ll update my rating after my fishing trip but so far I’m in love with this reel! At this price I don’t think you can beat it! ******update******* Took the reel to padre island nation seashore and fished for two days. Unfortunately the gears controlling the line guild are plastic and one of them stripped out and my line guide would no longer move back and forth :( I contacted for a exchange and had my new reel the next day. Might try and find brass replacement gears for the ones that are plastic(only 2 of them) and do a little upgrade. Overall I’m really impressed by the price and how well the reel worked! I landed my first shark with this reel! The 4ft per turn of the handle really helped me get the shark in pretty quick! Took off a star because of the plastic gears. They should offer a upgrade kit with those same gears made out of brass.

Loved the reel for the price. Worked flawlessly. Caught my limit of snapper 3 days straight and never an issue. The 6:1 ratio helped me to get my fish up fast enough to beat the sharks. Bringing up fish heads is never fun.

Got this really for bigger game fish, so the first thing I did was pick it apart (I couldn't put it back together myself, I had to contact Piscifun for directions). The reel holds its stated line capacity and I have 500 yards 80lb braid with about 3-5 yards 80lb fluorocarbon leader. I have this reel on a 13ft Penn Carnage II rod, this combo is quite heavy but that's what I was expecting, and the reel is quite compact for its line capacity. Unfortunately the drag is either light or heavy and take a sensitive touch to adjust. With that being said I'm looking to buy 3 more of these and maybe 2 of the 3000 size, my only wish is that is had a higher drag capacity, and the level wind gears were metal instead of plastic. Line retrieve on this reel is also good, it's not too fast and is also has an instant anti reverse bearing.

Ordered this for a trip off of edisto beach. Over an hour from shore and this piece of crap broke on literally it's first run out. Level wind function broke while running out the bait. Only winds to one location now, had to hand retrieve my lure. Bought a penn at the docks to replace it, penn works like they always do. Extremely disappointed. I've got 3 other piscifun reels and have been very pleased with them. They missed the mark on this one though. Or maybe I just got a dud? Who knows?

Unfortunately we haven't been able to use this reel yet, due to our fishing trip getting cancelled because of 14 foot seas. This reel seems to be well made for the price, and is the largest level wind reel I have ever seen. It's between a 4/0 and a 6/0 size so be aware of that. I bought this for my 12 year old grandson to use since he was having difficulty using a conventional reel getting the line back on the reel correctly. I ended up buying him a shoulder harness and a belt. That made it easier for him to handle.
