Haven’t used it yet but the quality seems to be great! Came with its own tool! Clicker is loud! Say goodbye to those pesky shark alarms! Can’t wait to take it out and try to catch some Monsters! I’ll update my rating after my fishing trip but so far I’m in love with this reel! At this price I don’t think you can beat it! ******update******* Took the reel to padre island nation seashore and fished for two days. Unfortunately the gears controlling the line guild are plastic and one of them stripped out and my line guide would no longer move back and forth :( I contacted for a exchange and had my new reel the next day. Might try and find brass replacement gears for the ones that are plastic(only 2 of them) and do a little upgrade. Overall I’m really impressed by the price and how well the reel worked! I landed my first shark with this reel! The 4ft per turn of the handle really helped me get the shark in pretty quick! Took off a star because of the plastic gears. They should offer a upgrade kit with those same gears made out of brass. ... show more

Just received my first Picsifun Salis 5000. Im giving 3 stars because I haven't used it yet. My 3 star rating is because i want to love this reel but the drag has already seemed kinda sketchy. Ive had to take the handle aprt twice just to be able to wind the reel because the drag gets stuck in one place where the handle wont engage and turn. No this is not my first level wind. Will give an updated review later but this drag feel like its either tight or not no in-between ... show more

I’m a kayak and small fishing boat trout fisherman and I wanted to run a second lead core line. I’ve bought Piscifun products in the past several times and have always liked them so when I needed a reel big enough to hold 300’ of lead core and another 100’ of monofilament line. I was happy to find the Salís 5000. I’ve gone fishing with it and it is comprable to my other lead core setup which is a Penn level wind 30 but, my Salís was about $60 cheaper. I also feel changing the drag settings are better on the Salís. I don’t regret buying either reel but if I were to buy a third I would buy the Salís because it’s cheaper and has rings to attach to. The only conn compared to the Penn reel is it’s a little heavier but not enough to bother me. You may notice my Penn is right handed and my Piscifun is left. That’s not an accident when I paddle kayak fish it’s so both controls and handles face me. One plus to Salís is the retrieval rate is faster than the Penn and being right handed that helps a lot. ... show more

I bought this for large striped bass, hybrid Wiper and catfish. I own a chaos xs series reel and two different piscifun baitcasters. I pulled this reel apart right out of the box and oiled all the parts, spooled it up and mounted it on a rod. The lever drag is easy but crisp to run. The action is so smooth, the bait clicker is loud and easy to use. I know it's a trolling reel but I lined it with 20lb fluorocarbon and 2oz of weight and it casts like a dream. A small half hearted test cast in my yard and I had to stop it from hitting my brick wall probably 60 feet away. Highly recommend this company and this product! ... show more

You can't beat this reel for the price. I would have given 5 stars, but the lock screws stripped and the lock nut stripped. Seller said it will take 30-50 days to send me new ones. We'll see how long it takes.

Got this really for bigger game fish, so the first thing I did was pick it apart (I couldn't put it back together myself, I had to contact Piscifun for directions). The reel holds its stated line capacity and I have 500 yards 80lb braid with about 3-5 yards 80lb fluorocarbon leader. I have this reel on a 13ft Penn Carnage II rod, this combo is quite heavy but that's what I was expecting, and the reel is quite compact for its line capacity. Unfortunately the drag is either light or heavy and take a sensitive touch to adjust. With that being said I'm looking to buy 3 more of these and maybe 2 of the 3000 size, my only wish is that is had a higher drag capacity, and the level wind gears were metal instead of plastic. Line retrieve on this reel is also good, it's not too fast and is also has an instant anti reverse bearing. ... show more

Just got this reel for some offshore fishing. Large line capacity and very smooth operation. Have not used yet, but have dome other Piscifun reels that work just as well as much more expensive reels. I’m sure this one will do just as well!! On a related note, I had a minor problem with another Piscifun reel before. I contacted their customer service team. They were VERY helpful and fixed the issue immediately. Really appreciated that level of support, which makes it a lot easier to give their products a shot! ... show more
