  • I like it
Color: Double Shoulder - Khaki Style: Standard
I'm giving this an actual 4.5 stars. While the bag is very good, there are some cons. I bought the standard size since I'm just starting to fish again casually and do not plan to overload on fishing supplies. The khaki color is nice, I stay away from camouflage because I like to see where my bag is. The interior is spacious enough for me, it will definitely fit 2 x 3600 tackle boxes. I only have 1 x 3600, so I was able to throw in some towels, bobbers (probably don't need to carry that many), bait, and still have some room left for other things. The big front pocket is flat with zipper access on both sides, I was only able to put a pack of senko and a pack of rubber O-rings; basically nothing bulky. There is another pocket on the front but the access is this awkward angled zipper and my medium sized hand barely fits in it. I end up not putting anything in it. The front molle system could be useful for some things. I thought it would be perfect to clip my pliers but the belt clip on the sheath are high; so when I clip it to the top molle, it extends pass the bottom of the bag. I can imagine if I drop the bag down, the thing would pop off and I might lose the sheath. So I clipped it up there and secured it with that big strap. I probably won't use the rod holder, not planning to hike into a fishing spot. Could be useful for other people. Water bottle holder is ok size, fits my Yeti 18 oz rambler snuggly. Anything larger will not fit. I don't understand the function of the 2 cord locks that's on the strap that secures the water bottle through the top. I end up removing them. I plan to wear it mainly in backpack mode, it's more comfortable. The belt strap is cumbersome to put on and take off. There is no quick release buckle on it, just an adjustable strap with carabiner on both ends. I can see the usefulness of wearing it as a sling, it can be easier to access your bag without taking it off. Lots of D-rings all over, I don't even know what to use them for. Everything is plastic to save on weight, hopefully they don't break too soon. Overall it's a very good bag for my needs. I haven't taken it out yet to fully test it but hope to soon. ... show more

  • Impressive & I make bags.
Color: Double Shoulder - Black Style: Standard
For under 25 bucks this bag is really impressive. I make bags, and I cannot buy the materials to fabricate this bag myself for what I paid for it. The materials are quality. The colors are all really nice. The materials are treated with some type of uv, rot/mold protectant from the manufacturer. However I did apply some "scotch guard" like product to the exterior to keep moisture out and seal it up better. I cannot find any flaws in the stitching anywhere, quality zippers, quality nylon. all seams are straight no crooked or ugly seams. I am very pleased to say the construction of this bag is really good. I might reproduce this bag just for fun that is how much I really like it. It has nice storage for fishing and outdoor gear without being too big or bulky. I carry books and food in it all the time. Straps adjust for comfort and stability. It has just the right amount of padding in all the right spots. 5 stars I really like this bag I highly recommend buying one. ... show more

  • Great buy, durable, has all the space you can want in a light pack
Color: Single Shoulder - Khaki Style: Standard
Been using this for a few years now and this is maybe one of my best value-buys in fishing to-date. It holds three trays, a PFAK, some leader spools, pliers, knife, etc. and is still very comfotable to wear hiking long way into a fishing spot. The bag is made of thick and durable nylon, it has held up perfectly after heavy terminal boxes, many miles hiked, and who-knows-how-many slides down a boat deck and being yanked in and out of boat lockers. It has a space for all the things you need and keeps it all compact. That's all I want in a light fishing pack. Bonus, it is easily adjustable to keep it up high when wading. I actually bought the same pack for my son and two of my nephews after my son kept asking to use my pack to go fishing with his friends. ... show more

  • Digital Camo - Standard Size
Color: Double Shoulder - Black Camouflage Style: Standard
I rarely write reviews on items, but I often look at other people’s reviews before buying. I like this bag overall - it seems to be well made and I like the organization/pockets. I’m not going to use it for my regular fishing bag though, and here’s why. (Quick summary at bottom) Background- I fish in Illinois in freshwater ponds, lakes and rivers (mostly forest preserves) and do not fly fish at all. I set it up with my gear and used it for fishing 4 times. I bought 2 - Plano 3600 boxes and they took up the capacity of the main pocket (as advertised). In the 2nd largest pocket I was able to fit multiple bags of soft baits which was good. However, because I fish different water body types and fish differently when by myself vs with my kids (crank baits and soft baits when solo, live bait with bobbers with the kids) I found that it just doesn’t have enough room to fit everything I want to. That was ultimately my fault though for buying the standard size and not the larger bag. I could also just swap out 1 box when needed, but I’d rather have everything in 1 bag all the time in case I want to switch things up and to prevent forgetting to swap a box at home. I also feel like the main features why I chose this bag didn’t pan out. I don’t usually wear 2 backpack straps, I only wear backpacks with 1 over shoulder/ across chest strap. I liked that this bag was able to do both! However, with both straps zipped together, the strap was too wide and didn’t feel comfortable and dug into my neck when across chest. Simple fix, I only used 1 strap and tucked the other one into the back pocket out of the way, and that was fairly comfortable. Strap adjusting is kind of a pain though. Unlike a regular backpack which has the adjustment points on the chest so you can easily adjust it with 1 hand based on weight changes and stuff, these straps can only be adjusted at the bottom where it connects to the bag. It simply cannot be adjusted once it’s on. I typically wear a bag tightened when on my back and when I need to swing it around to access while wearing, I will loosen it before rotating it to the front. Can’t do that with this bag. The pole holder spot that I thought would be cool to carry a 2nd pole or net with me and out of the way is just impractical. The rod sticks up way too high if walking through any wooded areas with having 3’ + of rod above your head. I also had thought I could use it to store my rod while I need to tend to my kids (baiting theirs or removing fish) but it’s almost impossible to get in while wearing the bag. Quick Summary : I would recommend this if you are a true minimalist and carry only a little tackle - I could see this being perfect size for fly fishing. If you like carrying a wide variety of different tackle, it may not be for you. The build quality seems good, no loose threads and all zippers/velcro work well. The straps are hard to adjust while wearing and I did not find them comfortable as intended though. Pole holder ended up being impractical. I’m keeping the bag to use for fishing, it just won’t be my every day bag. ... show more
