For the price point, this is a very nice reel. Very smooth, no problem chunking 3oz weights. Holds roughly 300 yards of 30lb test mono no issues. 10/10 would recommend, will be replacing the rest of my catfish reels with these reels very soon.

This is a value priced baitcaster. I have three of them and one already started acting up less than a year after purchase. We use them very often...several times a month all year round...so more than a lot of reels get used on average. The reel is smooth and the drag is good...initially. They cast well with 30lb mono and have handled some decent sized fish up to 45lbs. I would say if you used a reel two or three times a year and was not terribly hard on your equipment, it's a pretty good deal. They are very valued priced and easy to replace. If you were dipping your toe into the baitcaster pool this would be a good reel to check and see if you like this style of reel. If you were going to buy a reel to teach a beginner the ins and outs of a baitcaster, also this is a good reel for that. The function is good as is the performance...they just don't see to hold up very well and the quality control seems spotty. Bottom line is that it is a cheap reel that functions very well within the parameters I have stated. When you get it, you will be impressed. It is only over time and use does the weak points start to show. I still have two in use...one about 16 months old and they perform OK. You get what you pay for. If you have been using ABUs, these are not a replacement. No matter what you read or what you see on You Tube. For the money, buy a used ABU and get it serviced or clean it and lube it yourself. You may spend a bit more, but you will be happier in the long term. ... show more

I have no complaints. I use this reel (50) on a short boat pole for “ under the boat” drifting off the jersey coast for summer fluke. No disappointments. Us 8 to 10 oz. Sinkers to hold bottom. Just purchased the 60 and put it on a little heavier pole to handle a swifter current / drift. Can’t wait 2 put it to the test. My current setup is light & comfortable to use all day long without a struggle. ... show more

It's hard trying to convince someone else to buy something with their money, just because you like it..?🤔 My story is I've got five of them. Three of the 40s and two of the '50s and I use them regularly for catfish for a couple of years now. They're great reels, You've already heard it, it's just the truth they're great reels! Very smooth and they stay smooth over the years. The cast far and smooth as well. You bring in big catfish as they should without any problems. And I've used them for years without any problems on any of them. I just don't know where I can get an equal quality product at the same price for me this is the best real out there for the price. They're definitely worth more than what you're going to be for it. So after hours of research and video unboxings I finally decided to just send it and get the chaos xs 40. Initial unboxing left me pretty happy. Everything is clean and ready to use. The 40 is just a little too small for me, but I’m not complaining. If you’re looking for cheap quality just get this. I’m gonna pick up 3-4 more for the winter season. Didn’t know if these would do any good for salmon so I’ll come back and update this once it’s been through sone uses. I see a lot of cat fisherman getting these so I’m hopeful…… Alright after having the reel for a couple months I’m ready to give my two cents again. It’s worth it plain and simple. The price and product match and if you’re a budget friendly fisherman go for it. Take it apart and grease it up a bit before going out, but it’s a good reel. ... show more
