I was looking for a new reel to pair with a rod I recently purchased. I have ordered piscifun reels before and have had a great experience with them. I decided to order another one. last one I ordered was a honor but I decided to give the carbon x a try when I saw the spec. I was pleasantly surprised then it came in the mail. the reel was packaged very well in a sturdy well marked box. inside the box was a felt bag with the reel inside. spun the handle on and added line. I was very impressed with the very nicely constructed reel. its light, smooth and very nice looking. I think this a great value and would pay much more for this reel. great value! after I lined the reel I needed to give this a try. went down to the lake to give it a whirl. the carbon x worked flawlessly. the bail was smooth, retrieved the line evenly. the reel handled every fish that came its way, even a larger pike that met its match. the carbon drag worked perfectly and I just fell I love with this reel. I will be ordering more carbon x reels and will be replacing all my older reels. don't even think twice, order this reel!!! ... show more

I bought the Carbon X as a replacement for my tired Mitchell 308 on my ultralight. I was extremely impressed with the fact it’s in a solid box and packaged in a velvet bag to ensure no damage. When I first screwed in the direct drive handle it was apparent this was not an equal replacement. It was so much smoother than the Mitchell even when it was new, feels solid, but lighter at the same time. The construction of the reel is amazing, I have been using Piscifun for over a year now from bait casters to the Venom 5000 spinning reel for salmon and have been amazed with the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each reel. The Carbon X is no exception, I would go as far to say they have put even more into this reel and kept it at an affordable price point. If your hesitant to try it; don’t be, this reel will compete with reels that are twice the cost and I believe outperform them. Check out the Piscifun Facebook page and look at the overall reviews as well as the Piscifun Fishing Group page. Your getting amazing customer service with the reels as well. They make it a point to acknowledge the opinion you’ve given them regarding their product be it good or bad(which is something that doesn’t happen with other more well known brands). If you have not heard of or unsure of a Piscifun reel, let me tell you that you do not have anything to worry about; Piscifun makes an awesome reel. The Carbon X in particular is a beautiful reel that gets fish in the boat. It has incredibly smooth bearings, casts like a dream, and has a great drag! I have been fishing almost my entire life and have owned and used many brands of reels, from very cheap to rather expensive reels. Piscifun has delivered a budget-friendly reel that performs as well as if not better than some of the expensive reels I have owned. I have this particular Carbon X 2000 spooled up with 8lb fluorocarbon line for drop shot fishing for bass. The first time I took it out fishing I was very impressed with how easily I was able to cast with it and also with how smooth it was retrieving the line due to the quality bearings. The handle is very comfortable and ergonomic. I fished using this reel most of the day and was very impressed with how much I like the reel. In addition to it working well, it looks great! The black goes with any rod you might put it on and all the cut outs on the spool look rad! Speaking of the spool, it’s braid ready if you want to spool it up with braided fishing line. The reel body and rotor are made from carbon fiber so the reel is super light weight and very strong. This also makes for less fatigue when fishing for an extended period of time. All in all, I am in love with this reel! I will be replacing at least one of my other spinning reels with a Piscifun Carbon X and will be looking at purchasing other Piscifun spinning reels to replace the remainder of my spinning reels. ... show more

I bought this reel on the advice of a Hayward Wisconsin Guide, Tom Boley’s YouTube videos. I was in need of another spinning reel for an upcoming trip and thought, given the low price, I’d give it a try. I actually bought one off of their website on the week of the 4th of July but then was worried I’d not receive the package in time for when I left for my trip. I got anxious enough to order an additional of the same off of Amazon. I paired each with a st croix walleye eyecon rod in 6’6” and 7’ in medium light. I used both reels last week and I’m honestly impressed. I’m a pretty hardcore Abu Garcia guy and have reels all across their price spectrum. I like these reels probably more than a Revo SX which I think was around $160 when I bought it. I’ve used them in a live bait jigging application and to rip jigging raps and both have worked well. The jigging rap application is extremely important to have a smooth drag that doesn’t take too much extra to get started if that makes sense. These reels performed very smoothly and took up slack very quickly. If you’re looking for a reel on a budget that will possibly be the nicest reel you have or you are looking to add another quality product to your arsenal I would not hesitate to recommend this product. Although I have only used them a week I would definitely say they are worth your time. I only gave 4 stars for durability because I have only used them for a week. I gave 4 stars for weight because obviously my high end reels are lighter. The value for money is definitely 5 stars so far. ... show more
