I’ve taken this reel (2000 series) out four weekends in a row fishing for walleye and smallies. The reel is so light I had no problem casting and jigging for 10+ hours each day. It holds a lot of line, 20 yards of 17lb fluoro backing under 125 yards of 10lb translucent stealth braid and another 3 yards of 8-10lb fluoro leader. It has a 6.2-1 gear ratio for over 30” of line retrieval per turn, and up to 22lbs of drag. It has no problem letting the line peel off for long and short casts as well as drop-shot fishing with 1/4 oz weights. I really like this reel. The 3000 fits around 300 yds of 10lb test which is plenty for inshore. The retrieval is smooth as butter. It looks really nice and is super light. Spool comes off easily and goes back together with no issues. Highly recommended for inshore saltwater fishing. Casts a mile.

This is an exception reel for the price. I bought it to try another option instead of paying prices out of control from the leading manufacturers. So far it has been a surprise! I'm not a pro, but i fish quite a few times a month. I am a kayak and shore fisherman mostly. Fishing smaller lakes and rivers. The reel has worked great! Its smooth and casts well. Has normal line capacity for a 3000 size reel. The only negative I've found is the cover on the hole to switch the handle over to make it left handed isnt as secure as it should be! instead of screwing on it snaps on. i only know this because it was laying in the bottom of my kayak after catching a bass and putting the rod in the boat to unhook the fish. Guys please update this! It would have been long gone if i had been stream fishing. Hope this helps you guys decide on a new reel! Give it a try! ... show more

This fishing reel is amazing! It is light weight and very smooth. I have it a couple of months now and paired it with an Ugly Stick 7' ML action rod and loaded it with 10# test braided line. nice reel not what I expected. sometimes I have to flip bail by hand other than that its a quality reel, very light weight which is nice. I have 25 Piscifun baitcasting reels with no issues so far. Cant beat the price and quality of PISCIFUN REELS

The casting is what I noticed 1st. I paired with 15lb braid. This thing casts really far!! The carbon xII is super light weight. I will say, I never buy expensive reels normally whatever’s about 40.00@ Walmart. I don’t have experience with penn etc but the carbon x II is definately not a Walmart spcl. This is my first Carbon X II, not much difference from the original Carbon X. Excellent casting with 10lb braid to 8lb flouro leader. All three of my Carbon X’s are still performing well with no issues. I won’t hesitate to buy another one! Well worth the money.

Almost as light as my Pfueger $199.00 Patriarch. I wish they offered a size 25. I got the 20 but have not yet used it. Very nice reel for the price. A spare spool would be nice but not included.
