Ordered this AlumiX Spinning Reel - Aluminum Frame Spinning Fishing Reel - 26LBs Max Drag to replace my old Zebco and put it to bed. I mostly fish in a river very close by, and have been looking around for a "good reel" to use in my older years. I love to fish in spring, summer, and fall in the river. Love going back in one of my favorite coves, dropping the anchor and just fish away and enjoy the day in peaceful atmosphere. When seeing and reading about this reel, it's build & design, I chose this one. Very happy I did as it's an amazing reel, compared to my ole Zebco, no comparison. First, it is a beautiful color and an amazing smooth finish. It has stainless steel bearings and a carbon rotor for very smooth casting and operation. It cast so nicely and smooth. The good drag is strong, much stronger than I've ever had. The precision and quality control really shows is this fine reel. The best part is that my wife loves purple and I know one day, she will end up with it and use it as well, and hopefully remember how much I liked this nice reel. It is an extremely well made reel. It is all metal, no plastic. It has ten stainless steel ball bearings which makes it really smooth. The handle is not all that comfortable, so that is the one downside. My husband is not in love with the purple color, but the fish will not care. I love purple, so I like it. He will use it for casting 1/16th ounce spinners for trout. The instructions that come with it give you directions on how to clean it if using it in saltwater. The site didn't say that it could be used in saltwater, but it sounds like it is possible to use it in saltwater afterall. He is very happy with this item. ... show more

The reel has a nice ergonomic feel and is very smooth. The body of the reel feels solid and is made of quality material. I have 20 pound 8 strand braid on it and it casts very smooth with a nice retrieve. The textured spool allows you to tie braid directly to it without having to back with mono filament to prevent slipping. The color and appearance of the reel if very pleasing. I thought the spin reel was threaded, but it’s OK I will put line on. It seems like a pretty sturdy, aluminum spinner reel. I haven’t had a chance to actually use it fishing yet. But he seems durable plus a little purple as well. I will test it out soon and update accordingly.

Aye captain! Super light, smooth as butter, and hauls in fish. Drag is strong (26lbs!), built tough, maybe a tad pricey but worth it if you find a deal. Not the quietest, but hey, the fish gotta hear you comin' sometimes, right? Great reel, recommend to any angler!
