I'll admit it, I was skeptical about how well the Alloy M would perform. I have a Piscifun Torrent 7.1:1 and it's decent. Casting distance isn't superb, but it's a budget-friendly option for one of my small/cheap casters. Honestly, it does very well for the price, but the Alloy is in a league of its own. I was looking to add a few better reels to some newer rods and took a shot on the Alloy M, and wow. This is buttery smooth - smoother than my SLX DC. In fact, it was so smooth I thought it wasn't retrieving at first! Excellent build, quiet, and casts like a dream after a few seconds of dialing in the lure weight. The only exception I've found is with casting on a glass cranking rod. No matter what I tried, I got backlashes like crazy. Like, 3-out-of-4 casts, crazy. Because of the whip action of this rod, I'm assuming the sudden increase of line speed simply causes too much spool speed. So, I've dedicated my SLX DC to my Phenix cranking rod - ZERO issues. Perhaps other, more proficient anglers won't have such an experience, or those using graphite or more composite rods. Alternatively, I've tried this on my 7' MH Favorite Defender and even my 7-10 St. Croix swimbait rod, and it's on point. From 1/4 ounce to 2 ounce lures, it's smooth and quiet. I've only had two backlashes and one was caused by heavy wind and the other by a casting error where the bait hit the water pretty suddenly. Both were easy to fix, nothing that would delay fishing. I got the 6-speed version because my hope was to pair it with my cranking rod, but that was not to be. So, my plan is to link it with a 6-10 M caster I'll be getting soon. For slower work, I think it'll be great. I liked the reel so much I ordered an 8-speed for my Defender and even got an 8-speed Alijoz for my swimbait rod. If they keep performing like this, I'll get another Alloy for my H rod as well. I love high-value fishing gear, and Piscifun just keeps delivering. I'll be trying a spinning reel soon for my St. Croix M rod too. I've had great experiences with Cadence rods and reels as well and am looking forward to seeing how the spinning gear compares. I now have 4 reels and a small fishing bag from Piscifun and will return for more gear moving forward. I'm loyal to brands that produce great products. VERY HIGHLY recommended

Tons of drag, aluminum body and left-handed retrieve for a fair price. It's not advertised as a saltwater reel, but I've used it to horse angry blackfish out of rocks on a big, salty jetty. Works great, but just putting it down on a rock chips the finish. Not that I care, I like it with its battle scars. I hosed it off after I was done and see no signs of corrosion several months later.

the lure tension knob is the most impressive thing to me, it not only clicks but never gets over stiff no matter how strong you put it... its extremely impressive. It has so much power and precision, its the best I've ever seen in any reel out of any reel I've ever came across at any price point. Everything feels solid and robust on the reel. I have larger hands and my thumb clears both the walls of the spool, like it was made for me. The extended handle is a dream come true. The anti reverse and cast button are so crisp, very snappy. The quality of this reel surpasses reels more than twice the price. Brass Internals, Aluminum body, carbon fiber handle, everything has a crisp click to it, classy subtle finish, epic. The bearings in this reel are insanely nice. If you wanted to upgrade the stock Japanese bearings, Speed Spool makes upgrades for this thing if you want to take it to the next level.

The media could not be loaded. Flat out amazing. This reel at this price point is phenomenal. You can tell it has very nice bearings. Also took it apart and noticed it had a brass gear, you only see brass gears in high dollars reels. And this thing is under $90. Also has oversized drag washers. Which the reel states that it has 22lb and I can tell you it has a very smooth and strong drag. It has a low profile and fits great in the hand. Smooth casting and retrieve. It has an aluminum frame so you know it strong and will last a very long time compared to some other plastic reels that are in this price point. When I took off the braking side plate I saw that there were 12 magnets in there compared to other reels that only have about half of that in magnets. Which tells me they really knocked it out of the park with this one. Flat out amazing reel and this price point it can’t be beat. I will be buying more from piscifun as I can tell the quality is there! I also paired this with a piscifun serpent rod which is also an amazing rod

First outing was a great drag test, caught 5 spotted bay bass, some croaker, then a 25-30lb sting ray, fought for 45min on a kayak and the reel performed as it should, casts like a damn shimano curado if not better, light weight, 7:3.1 ratio is nice for swimbaits and jigging so far so good

Bought this reel to try out on Scup (aka porgy), seabass, and summer flounder in saltwater from a boat or kayak. Spooled with 20-lbs Angryfish AGWX9 braided line, the reel handled all 3 species with nary an issue. It has a smooth, powerful drag, but what caught my attention was the aluminum frame and saltwater-rated components. No need for a power handle as the stock one is quite good. For the money, it's the best bang for the buck! So good, in fact, that I bought a 2nd one and spooled that with 17-lbs fluorocarbon line for fish that are line-shy. Edit to add 1/20/22: Been in contact with Piscifun, and they admitted that the bearings aren't sealed or shielded, so it's not meant for saltwater, even though the description said it was made with saltwater-rated components. I will be relegating these reels to freshwater only. In the meantime, I picked up Penn Fathom Low-profile 200- and 300-size baitcasters for the salt.
