First time trying these after many recommendations and they do not disappoint. I play about half and half jazz and classical and these strings fill the room no matter the genre. Great tone no matter the register either.

    • Excellent strings! Transformed my playing!
These are my favorite strings! I thought I would never leave Thomastik Spirocores, and whenever I tried other strings found myself back to the Spirocores. But, eww.. playing the bow on Spirocores is a painful experience. Then Evah's came along and provide a great pizz sound, essential for playing jazz (my profession) and they bow beautifully. They're a very centered focus sound, and have a good growl in the lower end (though honestly, not as good as the spirocore) that seems to swell when sustained. The only thing I might say is negative is that when these strings die, they die instantly. One day, you pick up the bass and there's just no sound left. I have just used a set of the light gage and these lasted about 7 months. I practice many hours every day, and play professionally 3-5 nights a week, so this is not bad. Honestly, I'm not very good about cleaning the strings after each use, either. I hope this review influences you to try these strings. You won't be sorry. ... show more

Switching from Spirocores back to Evah Pirrazzi. Wish I could pay in 2015 what I paid for them in 2012! Oh well, inflation does not affect quality. I love Evah Pirazzi's and so should you.

These strings are awesome! They sound great for jazz and not too shabby for classical stuff. I play mostly jazz and music theater music, and they play exactly the way I wanted them too.

    • Great choice for bluegrass
The original set of strings that were placed on my hybrid bass when I purchased it, lacked the tone and thump I was looking for in playing Bluegrass. I spent some time reading blogs on different string choices for Bluegrass and finally found a website that help select stings for different paying types. At $200+ dollars you make an investment in your bass strings and hate to end up with something wrong. Unfortunately, I do not know the type that were placed on the bass when I originally bought it.
