  • Great Mid-Priced Over-The-Ear Bluetooth Headphones - Good for Big Ears
Color: Black
Note that this is not a noise canceling set of headphones, and is correctly described. The over the ear fit provides good sound isolation, but if you fly you probably need to get the noise canceling type. I did not want that type. I figured that by trading off the noise canceling feature I did not need that I would get better sound quality for the price - And I was not disappointed. I admit that my ears are large sized and I was concerned to get headphones that fully covered my ears for good comfort. As a bonus the headphones are not as heavy as I might have guessed from the size - They are quite comfortable. They seem appropriately sturdy - probably not military grade sturdy, but sturdy enough not to have to treat them gingerly. The sound clarity is very good to my ears. The bass is solid going all the way down in frequency without being obnoxiously over-accentuated as some headphones I have experienced are. The mid and treble is clear and the imaging is good (apariant ability to spatially locate the sound source in a well done recording) - That means the audio phasing is good across the frequencies. And one more thing I noticed and liked is that wearing the headphones the music seems to be around you and not originating inside your head - Many headphones and earbuds have the effect of making the sounds appear to be inside your head instead of around you. That is a positive. Please note that the inside the head verses outside the head effect depends on the source - For example John Mellencamp’s “Paper In Fire” sounds like I am in the room, but Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s “Woodstock” sounds like it’s inside my head. The only negative is that the instruction sheet is awful. It is one of those one-sheet map-folded sheets with a reasonable sized picture on the front section and minuscule print in half a dozen languages referring to the one picture on the front with the parts and buttons labeled with numbers. If you are like me, you need a magnifier to read the English text about paring the headphones. I deducted one star for the miserable instruction sheet. Fortunately paring and use is not complicated. ... show more

  • Not good with Tourettes, Otherwise fantastic
Color: Brown
I got these initially because I needed a set of headphones I could wear all day for work while being comfortable over my glasses and these fit the bill perfectly. The battery lasts a good long time and they charge very fast. The sound quality is terrific but the built-in EQ levels are trash. Quickly remedied by turning on the EQ in iTunes, so not a big deal at all. There are only three things that I dislike about this product and I am returning it because of one issue. 1) You can't use them while they're charging 2) My pair when plugged in via aux cord was finicky about the connection. If you spin the connection inside the jack port, it would pop between mono and stereo. This isn't something I'm fond of seeing in a pair of headphones I've had for less than a week. 3) While comfortable, the pads are shallow (for my ears anyway) and the tips of my ears rub on the speakers. Most people might not have a big issue with this. For myself, I have Tourettes and my ears involuntarily twitch a lot, so they're constantly being rubbed on inside the headphones, which isn't fun at all. The reason I'm returning them. If you don't have big ears or you aren't twitchy, then I'm sure you'll enjoy these. They're terrific quality and other than the ear rubbing for me were very comfortable. Everyone is different, give them a try! ... show more

  • Great for music, bad for phone calls
Color: Silver
These are my new favorite headphones. They paired easily and had some charge so I could check them out immediately. The headphones came with a USB charging cable and a cable for using them as wired headphones. Over Bluetooth they sound very good. Except for the power on and pairing beeps there was no noise from the electronics at all. Other headphones I’ve used have a hum or buzz from what I assume is the Bluetooth electronics which is especially annoying when listening to jazz or classical. Not these. These Pioneers are dead silent. They aren’t bass heavy or too bright, but what quickly caught my attention was the excellent stereo separation. In my limited middle of the road headphone experience, the stereo separation is the best I’ve ever heard. They don’t have noise canceling technology but block sound coming in or going out reasonably well. These headphones are quite comfortable with very spacious cups and soft vinyl covered pads. They don’t clamp down tightly on my head and fall out of position when I bend over to load the dishwasher. I like the fact that they don’t fold up because hinges break. I thought the buttons were for volume but they advance the track forward and back instead. They don’t have a volume control. They aren’t easy to adjust while they are on your head. When I try it, sometimes I hit a button and my listening is interrupted. When I called someone to test the phone functionality, she said the sound was very bad and pretty much unusable. I’m going to try again after playing with my phone settings and will update this review as needed. 4.5 stars ... show more

  • They're okay... the Bluetooth feature is weak
Color: Silver
There's two modes when Bluetooth is connected to your PC. The sound quality drops tremendously when using the 'Handsfree' mode that uses the internal mic as well. I tried this on a Windows 10 PC while using Discord. The way around it is using the regular sound mode and using another mic (like my Yeti Blue). Still, I can use the Bluetooth regular sound mode as headsets and use my DJ equipment at the same time. There's not a noticeable delay so it's okay to DJ with them. The aux cable that comes with it isn't long or sturdy enough to comfortably DJ while wired (so make sure to charge it, it only comes with a USB cord for charging). I can't say I'd buy this particular model again, but the sound quality is good enough that I would purchase this brand again IF there were a non-Bluetooth model with sturdy chords in the same price range. ... show more
