I had read some reviews of Pimpernel placemats saying they didn't the quality was as good as in the past. I disagree with that assessment. The quality seems just fine. I also purchased another set in a different style. I have always loved not having to wash and iron placemats and the condensation from iced liquids doesn't seep through woven material. We’ve had the placemats for about a month now. The very chemical smell is slowly fading just now. It was so strong in the beginning that I got nauseous. The picture is pretty though.
