I ordered these Lane kitchen towels in Christmas Green, and they’re even better than I hoped—cheerful for the holidays, but so well-made I’ll be using them year-round. First off, they’re super absorbent right out of the package. None of that “wash them five times before they work” nonsense. They’re made from 100% natural cotton, so they soak up spills and dry dishes effortlessly—no more wrestling with wimpy towels that just smear water around. Pros: These are pretty washcloths. Their color matches the description. I also love how thin they are; they fit better into my drawer than other washcloths do. The tags do say they are 100% cotton, too, which is what I was looking for. CONS: The washcloths really aren’t very absorbent. They just king of smear water around on the counters when I wipe them down. The cloths also have a really smooth texture, meaning they don’t clean/scrub very well. I tried cleaning some produce with them, and they really don’t work nearly as well as my really old ones that I’m replacing. They feel more like cloth napkins than dish cloths. I already washed them all and started using them, so I’ll give them a go. I’ll likely have to replace them soon since they’re irritating to use because of the cons above. If you’re looking for dish cloths to soak up messes and clean up grime/clean dirty dishes, these really aren’t the cloths for you.
