Sorry, for some the crystal light headset seemingly it’s a wonderful product and I was looking forward to the same. However, not to be for me. I’m not a computer geek, knowledgeable enough for my PC. First off when I originally fired up the crystal light headset the introductory screen was totally blurry. Mountains were doubled, etc. I measured twice my IPD and was able to get the visual down to just a blur. An additive to that I had to adjust the IPD in the settings menu to help accomplish, however, still a blur. My vision is good and I know it was not my lack of adjusting the IPD to the appropriate setting, never did accomplish total vision correctness. Originally on my computer setting up Pimax play and making sure all components were up-to-date prior to receiving Pimax headset. Not only was the visual blurry, but it drifted and lacked the normal head tracking capability, etc. I spent hours trying to rectify with several advisory inputs from various sources. I.e., AI and Google inputs from those in the Know relative to how to correct malfunctions. Without a lengthy dissertation, all I can say is I was so looking forward to what apparently is rated as one of the top visual headsets on the market and especially for me to fly Microsoft flight simulator 2024, I was so looking forward to having this headset. All I can say is those of you that are looking to buy the Pimax crystal light headset, I wish you luck and hope it works initially as advertised with the simplicity that Pimax video advertises as the simplicity of initially setting up the headset on your PC. I gave up and returning the headset to Amazon. Thank God for Amazon return policy, they are the best. PS I have a RTX 4090 and a good CPU!! ... show more

So I was on the fence about Pimax because of all the stories I hear online about their software reputation, but truly the crystal light has been rock solid since the day I got it. The visuals are insane compared to the Quest 3! I mostly fly in MSFS and DCS, and being able to read everything especially the gauges is a total game changer. The local dimming on the QLED display also makes flying at night look really real. I bought the Pimax Crystal Light for sim racing and the clarity is amazing compared to the Quest 3 I had at first. Resolution is very sharp, I can see all the dash stuff very clearly, and also stuff like track markers. Local dimming on the panel gives nice punch to dark scenes. I can pick refresh rates to match my PC and it stays smooth. Fit and comfort surprised me. It sits balanced, the strap doesn’t bite, and I can actually do long sessions without any discomfort. I got some prescription lense inserts from VRoptician so I don't have to wear my glasses, highly recommend for anyone with glasses. I also removed their built in audio. I have some expensive earphones I wanted to use instead. I just unscrewed them and set them aside. There wasn't any issues doing this, it's nice I wasn't forced to use their audio. I didn't even test it though, It was probably fine lol Setup was easy. The Pimax Play software is straightforward, SteamVR picked it up, and I like that I can save per-game settings. Fixed Foveated Rendering is an easy toggle and genuinely improves frame rate with almost no visual downside in the edges. My GPU is a 3070ti but I was playing modded Assetto Corsa without any issues. Inside-out tracking has been very good for seated sims. Not needing to buy base stations really saved me some money. If you’re hardcore and want Lighthouse later, you can add the faceplate, but I haven’t needed it. Pimax Prime was a nice touch. The dual payment with a trial period made the purchase feel low risk. I tested it on my actual rig before committing, which more companies should allow. Customer support was good and easy to access. I had a small setup question, opened a live chat, and got a clear answer quickly. You can access it right in their desktop app too, which was really cool. The software side has been stable for me. Bottom line: Amazing clarity, comfy fit, easy setup, solid tracking, and smart performance options like FFR. If you care about visuals in PCVR, Crystal Light is a 5/5 buy.
