Why did you pick this product vs others?: I'm not sure when these pems came out, but I'm almost 42 & have used these pens almost exclusively since I was about 12. I have horrible penmanship so these are the only pens I use at all as an adult so I try to stay well stocked & buy them when they are on sale. My penmanship is slightly better with these pens with the finer tips. ... show more

I take my pens very seriously. These are the best "daily driver" pens I have found yet and they have been my go-to for the last ~6 years. I've never found a pen that doesn't bleed through the paper at least a little, but this one is among the best in that regard – it's fairly minimal. The width of the line isn't too thick nor too thin. If you like a reeeeaaalllyyyyyyy thin line, then maybe this pen isn't for you. I use one pen every day until it runs out of ink and then on to the next one in the box. The whole box (12 count) lasts me about two years, so the price of a whole box isn't terrible if you look at it that way. The only downside I can think of is that the ink sometimes explodes out of the pen, and I don't know what causes it. It's happened to me on 5 occasions, and 5/36 total pens exploding is too high of a failure rate to warrant 5 stars in my opinion. Hope this helps! ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Wanted pens that provide clear black characters, and do not blot. I picked this over Sharpie Gel which I cannot use without blotting. So far these Pilot pens seem good.

Such a smooth effortless pen with the best fine point tip. Doesn't smudge easily as it dries almost immediately. They last forever and they stay in brand new condition until they run dry. Been using these for 25+ years and they're still the best.
