  • Great buy, beautiful results.
I didn’t realize these were actual paint markers. But that said it produces a beautiful finish that actually glimmers beautiful. (Photos don’t do justice.) I was expecting a finer tip but then they are paint markers so you may find the line thickness to be a little more than with a regular marker with the same tip size. They take a few minutes to dry but not all that long. There will be those little “puddle” areas that will take longer so give these a good 10 minutes before you go running your hand on them. I did that within just a couple minutes and while it was mostly dry there were those areas that were still wet. Test it out on various surfaces before using on your final project. Once dry they it to be pretty set in and do not smudge or wipe off with pressure. (Although I cannot speak for the long term permanent durability at this time.) I happy with these. I was hoping for a finer point for what I wanted this for, but that’s ok and I’ll surely find many uses for these lovely pens! ... show more

  • Very mature and versatile gold and silver colored markers
Compared to the gold ink from UNI Posca markers, the gold ink from Pilot pens is a shade darker and more mature. Pilot's gold are also not overly glittery and more subdued. This is not to say that it the ink is dull, because it is still metallic and reflective; I prefer this shade of gold vs the brighter and glittery kind. The silver marker is good too and has nothing bad to write about. ... show more

  • Writes great on wood!
I bought this set of pens so I could write a message on the inside of a baby mobile. I was sure that the ink would sink into the grain and be hard to read but it worked perfectly! As easy as writing on paper! The gold color is so beautiful. I would write on a scrap paper before writing on your actual project every time as the flow can be wonky when you first start writing ... show more

  • Fluid & Fine
Writes very fluidly, no blobs of paint. I use to sign my art work. It's permanent with a little elegance. I more partial to the Gold but the silver is very nice too. They should make more colors!

  • High pigment, if a bit messy - picture of silver
OK so first off I’m revisiting this purchase, and I see I made it 4 years ago. So secondly this formula has a place in my heart since I first saw it in the 90s and it’s really the same then as now, really bold and vivid. But it can also be really runny and after buying them over the years it’s kind of a hit or miss whether you’ll get a good one. I would say about every 1 in 5 can be funky so that’s why I’m taking off a star. Honestly once you put too much pressure on it, it’s game over, who knows what it’ll do next. So give it a good shake, test it on another surface by gently pushing the nib to get it to flow, and write at a bit of an angle. So I’m here buying the gold again because, yeah, she died quickly, it just did not go well. The silver baby is going strong, and I’m too lazy to store her on her side as instructed, so this girl is tough like ox. In comparison to the Uniball Signo, no comparison, the Pilot paint marker wins hands down. 2nd photo shows the Pilot marker on 4 mediums the second they were dry, mildliner in violet, Derwent inktense watercolor pencil deep rose (no water), Derwent inktense watercolor pencil in deep rose (with water wash), and apple barrel matte acrylic in purple iris. ... show more

  • Beautiful ink!
Great value, long lasting, multiple uses!

  • What were they thinking??
Don't be fooled. This is a very foolish design for ink that doubles as paint. In Art's and Crafts stores there are specific brands I go with but couldn't find one with a tip this small. Pilot thought they could make one that is reliable. Wrong. I took it out and shook it. I then followed the directions to the point it was ready and then it spilled everywhere. DO NOT PUT PAINT INTO A MECHANICAL SYSTEM LIKE THIS. It's cheap plastic. Order wisely. ... show more
