I use these pens extensively in grad school and as a teacher. The ink flows well, without clumping. The consistency of the ink flow is very important as a student because I hate clumps of ink that bleed over to the next page when I close my notebook. However, I do wait a few seconds to let it dry because the Bold version of the pen does use a lot of ink. I have the color set, as well, and use these for grading student papers. I also use the color pens to write in my planner, with different colors for different tasks. I've tried other pens, such as Bravo marker pens, flair, and tons of different gel and micro tip, but I always come back to these G-2 Bold pens.

MayDay MayDay!!!! Pilot pen quality crash! What has happened to you my G2? Half way through your ink life, you clog and sputter, drip and clump. For the past ten years of our relationship, you were my GO TO, my coveted pen...so when you changed and picked up this new leaking habit, I tolerated it as we have worked well together for so very long. But today you crossed the line. Today your ink line landed across my cheek. Shame on your lack of standards and the selfish pilots who sacrificed your quality for their profit. Wish i could return both of these boxes. No one will even steal your leaking mess when i leave you around at work. What a shame. 10 years of good words, great signatures, and dependability has now come to this: I am looking at this Papermate gel I borrowed from another nurse yesterday. He’s seems cool, understated and dependable. Thanks for the good times Pilot G2 0.7, 0.5 and 1.0 but let’s part ways cuz the ink on my face was the end.

Well I have used Pilot G2 Pens for several years. And I liked the Fine Point well but I found the Blue ink was kind of light and the tip a bit scratchy. This is why I decided to purchase the BOLD BLUE INK. There are several reasons why I prefer the Blue Bold Ink: 1. The ink appears to be a darker blue and easier to read. 2. My handwriting looks better using this ink. 3. This is my 2nd purchase of a box of these because my first box lasted well over a year and they are the best pens I have ever used. 4. This bold pens I couldn't find in regular stores, so glad Amazon has these available. 5. On paper, these pens look similar to fountain pen writing and I use them daily as I do lots of handwriting. 6. The complete pen set is just a bit more than the refills so I prefer the pen sets. I highly recommend these pens.

These write beautifully, and were shipped promptly and would give a 5 except that they have leaked badly everywhere. I find gobs of blue ink on my hands, large blots on legal papers at work, in the pen can on my desk and on everything in my purse. I've had these Pilot pens before, and loved them, but never this problem. Cant help but wonder if these are seconds or rejects?? I rarely if ever have a poor review, but I am definitely very disappointed in these.

I'm a red pen junkie. I write in red all the time for notes, journaling, everything. LOVE IT. I used another brand that discontinued my favorite all time pen so I was forced to hunt my next favorite pen. This is it. One thing I never liked about the pens with caps was that the pocket clip (which I NEVER used anyway) tended to poke me in the top of my hand when writing. If I took the top off, they sometimes seemed to grow legs, walk off on their own and I ended up with a capless pen bleeding all over everything. I haven't noticed that this one bleeds, as I am sure I have dropped at least one in my purse while open and have seen no new "blood" stains on the lining. Not the case here due to the old school retractable point feature. Nothing to get lost. As you can see, the pocket clip is rounded on the end so it won't poke, but it is also shorter than the last pens I used so it seldom touches my hand. The grip area is padded with some ridges so gripping is easy. The ink distribution is smooth and uniform. Color red is good. I can't believe I have so much to say about a pen...but I'm a writer so this matters.

I'm not a fan of thin pens given that they sometimes feel like you're scratching the paper. I also don't like the way they feel when writing on a hard surface. For some reason, the 1.0mm version of this pen is not that easy to find in regular retail stores, so once again, Amazon comes to the rescue! The thicker ball point creates a much broader stroke (as expected), but also makes it easier to write on hard surfaces. Just be careful when drawing long lines or moving too fast with this pen as sometimes the ink can well up on the end and get on your paper or fingers. I think this is more of a generic issue with gel pens, but still something to point out.

These Pilot G2 10 gel ink pens are the best ever. The 10 signifies Bold. They are also available in 07 (Fine) and 05 (Extra Fine). I started using these a few years ago and recently could only find the 05 and 07 models in local stores. I prefer the 10 and was quite happy I found them here on Amazon -- at a great price. I can't say for sure how long they last, but the ink definitely lasts longer than any other pen I have ever used. And, I have never experienced any of these Pilot G2s drying out. One word of caution...there are surfaces where this ink will smear. It is best to use on regular ole paper. Despite that, these still earn a 5-star in my book.

Two stars because unlike some, mine haven't tattooed my clothes, skin, purse, documents. I still love the feel and the bold lines. Dislike that they last half as long as they used to. I've checked my order history and instead of a pen a week, I'm now consistently going thru 2 per week. Despite my willingness to pamper myself when I'm writing, this is beyond the pale. And no, I have NOT doubled my writing. Price goes up, quantity goes down-the old law of supply and demand turned on its head. So now I have AH pen left to mourn as I write. Then it's off on the adventure (heh) of finding something I like (can stand) to write with. Good luck, me. G'bye Pilot.
