****UPDATE - I liked this mattress pad so much I ordered a second one for our camper mattress!!***************** I just received this yesterday and opened it tonight so I could wash it before putting it on my bed. First, let me say that last summer I paid the same price for a mattress pad for our camper bed that was supposed to be all thick and cushy and even after I removed it from the vacuum sealed bag, washed and fluffed it in the dryer, I couldn't tell it was even there. But this mattress pad is supposed to be the same one used at the Marriott hotels and after living in one for over a month and a half a few years ago when our house flooded, I got a little spoiled. So when this popped up when I was searching online the other night to find out what mattresses the various luxury hotels use, I couldn't resist! So, I received this one in a vacuum sealed plastic bag and was surprised at how thick it still was. Thought maybe they didn't suck as much air out before shipping as the other brand I bought last summer. Cut the bag open and the thing started getting bigger! I could barely get it out of the bag! So I'm standing in my laundry room, debating if I should wash this thing or not because I'm not sure it'll fit in my washing machine... the super capacity machine that is supposed to be able to handle an entire king sized bedding set and comforter! I opted against washing and decided I'll lay it out to air out over night (it has the same smell as any new item... nothing offensive just nothing I want to put on my bed RIGHT before I crawl into it.) So I laid it out to air out and really check this thing out. It's like a mattress topper... very well made. The material for the side reminds me of the underwear you get at the hospital after you have a baby (those amazingly comfortable ones that are so ugly but you don't care cause they are so comfortable and you wish you could take a bunch home with you...) The pad itself is about 1.5 inches thick (again, I didn't fluff it in the dryer or anything). The filling inside is solid... not wimpy, non- existent stuff like the mattress pad I bought last summer. It's like my grandma made a heavy quilt for an Alaskan winter into a "mattress pad". I seriously cannot wait to be able to actually use this! I will update once I do... A few other side notes that I want to mention... made in the USA by a "hometown" company (turns out this was made where my cousins live). Veteran owned and gives back to the community... just icing on the cake! Wish I'd realized they made mattresses before purchasing the one I did earlier this week! ... show more

No doubt it is thicker and heavier than a regular mattress topper, so put a three star, but definitely far from "Marriott hotel" quality! after two days with the hope it would "wake up" magically as "extra fluffy" as shown in the picture, but no. It is just "fluffy" enough to make it impossible to put it back to the box, surprise! ... show more

I stayed at a Marriott about a year ago where I wished I could have taken the bed home with me. I went on a search once I got back home and was happy to see this item advertised as being used by Marriott. I don't know what type of mattress the bed had but this quilted / pillow top cover is definitely an important element for comfort. This quilted mattress pad has allowed me to continue using a king mattress after it had become uncomfortable and developed indentations where I slept. I have fibromyalgia and other joint issues and finding sleep comfort is challenging. This mattress pad does help by delivering a layer of quilted cushion as a barrier to the surface of the mattress. It holds it's "puffiness". I am finally getting a new memory foam mattress - a queen - so I am purchasing new bedding. I have also ordered one of these for the new bed. I feel that it's a staple for me now. I will update my review when I've assessed how it works with memory foam vs a traditional spring mattress. I have high hopes. This product is very well made. I have used my King sized one for about 9-10 months and it is still as good as when I first put it on. You will definitely notice a positive difference in the comfort of your mattress. For me, this quilted pad is worth the price. Others have been a waste of money. I can even envision putting a second one on the bed for even more softness! If you are prone to hurting because of pressure on your mattress, you'll understand. UPDATE: After writing this review, I came across another product by this company and the reviews of it. It is the "extra thick" bamboo mattress pad that has 30% more filling than the model I purchased. Reviews are great! I can only imagine how great it could be and contacted their customer service about an exchange. I have not even taken the first one out of the box as the new mattress has not arrived yet. Excellent customer service. They emailed me a prepaid mailing label to return this one for a full refund and I ordered the extra thick one which will arrive the same day as the mattress. The difference in price will be so worth it I feel. ... show more
