This was not giftable. It also did NOT come with the wax comb! I bought this as a gift for a teen with a year’s supply of wax and new Channel Islands leash. When I received it, I read the packaging, “play with your pickle...don’t be bashful...rub your pickle...grab your pickle”. I’m supposed to gift that? Some sense of humor these guys have. I am buying the cannonball. I only hope THAT doesn’t have some double meaning! My older son refuses to buy Mr. Zoggs for the message it puts out there. Good for him. I’ll do the same.

I don't write many reviews, but I've been taking wax off surfboards for a long time (20+ years), and this thing is perfect. I've never seen a board look so brand new. Directions: 1) Warm the top of your board in the sun for 3-5 minutes. 2) Use wax comb to scrape wax off board. Remove as much as you can with the comb. 3) Bring board back into the shade and rub this pickle on top of it. Every last bit of remaining wax comes right off and creates these tiny and dry, sandy wax beads that brush right off the board. Selling a board? This wax pickle will make it look brand new. Note: Added bonus. The wax comb that comes with this pickle thing is also a far better wax comb than the one I've used for years. Honestly, I was highly prepared for this thing to be yet another gimmick-type product. Nope. The guys that created this thing deserve to make a lot of money. Pay the $10. Keep this thing forever. Just awesome.

Very easy to use, I usually find that I can use this on 1 longboard and 1 shortboard before it's no longer able to be used. It's got a fun design and comes with a little sticker and a wax comb (or at least mine always have). Definitely something to use outside, or with some sort of covering under the board as small grains of sand will get out litter the floor. It's always a nice feeling to have a completely clean board, and these wax removers are an important part of that job!

Great product! I’m a surf noob, and bought a used board off of marketplace. At first I tried to clean it with a credit card and a heat gun. I wasn’t getting too far with that, so I hoped on Amazon to search for solutions. Not only did the Pickle packaging stick out from the others, but the name made me laugh. So I gave them a shot, and boy they did not disappoint. Not only did I have half the board cleared within minutes, in overcast 60° weather, but the top of the board an amazing shine to it, and is ready for some fresh wax!!!

The Pickle Wax remover is *amazing*. I previously (like a chump) had been cleaning wax off of my boards with an old credit card and paper towels (and sometimes a heat gun when it was cloudy out, which occurs often where I live), and could never get that "brand new" shine that I've seen other people achieve, instead having a thin layer of blurry wax left on my board. I decided to try the pickle, even though I didn't like the idea of a solution that involved chemicals (I've heard it's either fiberglass or Styrofoam dust, but in either case I don't really want to breathe it in), and was impressed by the results: basically my board looked brand new. The wax comb it comes with is pretty nice too. It can take awhile to clean a board off (plan on 30 minutes or more for a longboard). Generally you need to scrape most of the wax off with the comb and then come back over everything with the pickle. The more wax you leave on the board, the more wax and dust shavings build up around the board, and possibly your floor. I'd recommend putting down a drop-cloth or some cardboard before going to work -- the shavings that land on my concrete garage floor are near impossible to sweep up (they stick). Definitely don't do this inside. If you're selling a board, I highly recommend grabbing one of these and removing the wax before taking pictures of it; I suspect you can ask for a slightly higher price for a wax-free board. I actually carry an old one of these in my car (the dust eventually all comes out and the pickle gets smaller and smaller until it needs to be replaced) to remove any wax on the bottom or rails of my board as I wait for the folks I surf with to get ready. I've bought a couple of these, and will probably keep buying them. Essential piece of surf equipment, I clean off my boards every couple of months.

The pickle saved me time I didn't have preparing my board for a trip to Costa Rica. The board was sitting around my office waiting for a trip just like this but due to years of heat changes and other environmental factors wax as on the deck and bottom. I cleaned everything and more over it polished the bottom really well. That's not all! When we were out in Costa Rica, I had brought the pickle to share with friends. We went to Witches Rock and Ollies in a boat and our boards were all either stacked or sideways on each other. My friends boards were all dirty with old wax from colder climates dripping and getting gooey. It was messing with my board. I used my pickle to quickly polish the bottom of my board before going out. It was an advantage. I recommend it.

I didn't like the nano-particles it leaves on the board, my hands, and the ground. I was terrified that residual could get into the ocean and some small critters ingest it since it seems to be a non-biological product. I bought another set as a gift but won't be giving it away. I tossed the pickle but kept the scraper.

So, this thing is crazy, i have surfed for a really long time and didnt even know this existed, i recently bought a used board and needed to add a traction pad, i scraped all the wax off then Used the pickle to take the residue off and make the board pretty much brand new again before i stuck the pad on. Just be sure you remove as much wax as you can with a wax comb before rubbing it with your pickle.
