  • Good traction pad for board sports.
Color: Camo Green Size: 48''x16.8''-5.6sqft
I got this camo colored EVA pad to use as knee padding in my canoe - easing the pressure on my joints when a rocky rapids has me on my knees to lower my center of gravity and increase stability of the canoe. Originally, I was planning on using a strip of Abahub's "faux teak" decking which is linearly grooved to simulate planks. I already had a piece of that and was impressed with it, but when I saw this camo pattern, which matches both the green outside and tan inside of my Royalex plastic canoe, I had to try it out. Like other Adahub decking, the adhesive is great. Plan ahead because once it's on, "it is where it is," as they say. Not entirely obvious to me, was the profile of the decking. I think it's the camo pattern that somehow fooled my eye into thinking that it was the diagonal cross hatching that was raised. In reality, it is the diamonds that are raised and separated by cross-hatched grooves. In spite of what you might surmise by the "V grooves" labelled in one of the product graphics, the edges of the diamonds are not in any way beveled. The diamond points are, well, pointy. The "grooves", if you want to call them that, are "dado" cut, meaning parallel vertical walls without beveling to soften the edges. I was concerned that the resulting aggressive diamond tread might be uncomfortable to stand on barefoot, or to kneel on, but that didn't turn out to be the case. The diamonds are sufficiently squishy that I didn't feel them. I still would have preferred that the groves were actually "V" cut, or at least beveled with a roundover bit. The way they are I think it's much more likely that they might catch the tread of a sneaker or aqua shoe, impeding the fast footwork that is sometimes critical to board sports. I also think that they are more likely to hold onto dirt and mud, and that the diamond points will wear quickly. ... show more

  • Excellent for flooring and more!
Color: Camo Black Size: 96''x16''-10.67sqft
- Review - 10/10 I've ordered a few different rolls of peel-and-stick foam boat floor in the past, and none of them were as good as this one. I love the diamond texture. The finish has enough grip to walk on and isn't slippery like other versions I've tried. The colors are even brighter than they looked in the photos. I love how bold the white shines against the grey and black. The sticky back is extremely sticky and adheres significantly better than the other brands I've tried. There are tons of uses for peel-and-stick foam "boat flooring" other than marine use. I've used it on my workbench to have a soft section to place delicate items, in toolboxes to cushion the rattling tools, on the bottom of a subwoofer so it wouldn't vibrate against the floor so much, etc. I'm planning to use it on my shelves in the future. Basically, if you have a surface you want cushioned, this is an easy way to do that. - Cons - The only small nitpick I have is that the diamonds are not cut so that they line up when you put the rolls next to each other. It's difficult to see on the camo patterns unless you look very closely, but if it were a solid color, I think it would be easier to notice. Most people would never notice. - Application Tips - Follow the instructions. Surface prep is everything. If you try sticking this on something before you scuff it and clean it with isopropyl alcohol, it will not adhere properly. (and neither will any product like this) The instructions had a warning about offgassing and a smell, but I couldn't smell anything and my air purifier in the room hasn't detected anything. To easily apply it, peel the backing paper about 2 inches off the end and fold it under and back towards the opposite end of the roll. Stick the end you peeled down flat on the surface you want to apply it to. Before peeling further, flatten the entire length of foam against the surface you are adhering to and make sure you are correctly lined up. Then peel from the bottom with one hand and use the other to smooth it down as you go. Be warned, between it coming rolled up and it being foam, there is a little wiggle room, so stop and check that you are still lined up every foot or so. Having a friend or a weight to help hold down the opposite end helps a lot. If you are using a wider cut, you may need to use 2 hands to peel the backing paper. Just stop every foot or so to push it down and double-check your alignment. DO not yank on it and stretch it when you attach it. You want it to lie relaxed and flat. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Comfy
Color: Camo Blue Size: 96''x16''-10.67sqft
I wasn’t really expecting much when I ordered this foam flooring. The blue camo looks super cool in our blue and white kayaks and it kinda gives my boat a whole new vibe. The foam is thick so it’s got this nice cushy feel when I’m standing on it for a while and it does a great job of soaking up the shock from choppy water and rocks hitting the bottom. Cutting it was easy I just used a regular utility knife and shaped it to fit around my seat and corners. The adhesive on the back is no joke either it sticks down solid and hasn’t peeled up at all even after some wet and hot days out on the water. The most important part though is cleaning the surface where I put it with good cleaner and then going over it with alcohol to remove and residues. I did notice it doesn’t get too hot in the sun either which is awesome and the grip is way better than the slick plastic I had before. I put it on the metal deck where I climb up on the back of our boat and it went on totally smooth so I’d say just make sure whatever you’re sticking it to is clean and flat. I probly should’ve measured twice in a couple spots because I messed up a cut and had to retrim but that was my bad. I would suggest making forms from thin cardboard like the boxes from soda or posterboard heck even paper would work. Overall this stuff works great feels great and is very durable. It's an excellent value for the money. ... show more
