    • Well made from good materials but I don't like the fit

I carefully measured my hat size and had my spouse measured it as well. The result was consistent with the size of the hats I have purchased in the past. My hat size maps to the large so that is what I ordered. When I received the order I found the hat to be of excellent material and construction. Seriously, this is a well made hat! Trying it on I found it sits lower on my big head with the bottom of the hat almost to my ears. The hat has a sizable elastic band to hold it in place. I would describe the fit as good, but snug enough to be secure in the wind. Now here's my problem - After wearing the hat for less than a hour I developed a throbbing headache and scalp numbness. Taking the hat off relieved the ache and numbness in a few minutes. To ensure the hat was the source of problems I tried wearing it two more times with the same result. Since it is such a nice hat I gave it to my son. It is looser on him and he likes the way it sits lower on his head. There is a good chance buying the next size up would fix the problem, but I really don't like the fit, so I am going to stay with a standard baseball cap ... show more

But when it arrived I saw the manufacturer's label inside was different from previous item, but, more important, the *fit* was different. It just did not sit on my head as well as the previous one.
