  • A small investment that teaches a rewarding piano skillset
Edition: Piano flashcards
These Piano Staff Notes flashcards are a bit smaller than ordinary playing cards. The cards feel robust enough to withstand extended use without crumpling or folding. They feel laminated and are quite easy to read because of their excellent printed clarity. They feel comfortable in the hand, and they feel solid enough to avoid sliding around when extensively handled. The bulk of these flashcards (cards 1-76) are best described as music theory oriented. Their emphasis is on the technical aspects of learning the musical nitty-gritty behind the piano keyboard. It's a vast amount of solid information presented in a compact and clear fashion. Master the information in these 76 cards and you should have the groundwork for building serious understanding of how the piano keyboard works. The rest of the cards I would describe as developing elementary sight reading skills that should help to improve your facility for playing music as written. Both learning aspects of these flashcards are necessary in order to master piano technique. The amount of information contained in such a compact space and for such a reasonable price makes these flash cards an excellent value. Their ease of use makes them a superb tool. Such a small investment capable of teaching such a rewarding skillset makes these flashcards a bargain. ... show more

  • Well Made & Thoroughly Helpful!
Edition: Piano flashcards
This is a nice, high quality set of piano flashcards! Easy to hold, in fact same size as any basic card game deck. Of the 104 cards included, only 28 are notes on the staff to recognize. The other 76 are all music theory cards such as recognizing music symbols and values. I will definitely be using these to improve my piano playing knowledge! Each individual card is numbered (very small in bottom left corner), and features two sides--making them double the value. Not only can I practice naming notes on the staff, but if I turn the card over I can also try to think in reverse and visualize what that note looks like on the staff. Extremely helpful! I took 4 years of piano lessons as a kid, and now as an adult want to actually be able to play well. So while I do have some experience and can recognize many of these cards already, there are still many (especially the piano theory ones!) that will advance my knowledge. ... show more

  • Good for learning on the go if you want to stay off screens!
Edition: Piano flashcards
These are good flashcards for learning musical notes and geared towards piano. They also include 'Fixed Do' cards, which may be off-putting for many choir teachers since only a few ISDs in the whole state of Texas have really ever taught Fixed Do. Sorry, if you're familiar with movable Do, these won't help much. But there are cards for key signatures and time signatures. You could use all kinds of tools to learn, but flash cards are one of the oldest, easiest to travel ways of going about it, while keeping your learner off of screens. The value is good for the price, and the durability seems like they will last a long time. ... show more

  • Smaller than the picture, but good for musicians
Edition: Piano flashcards
I got these to help teach my daughter keyboard. As a music minor in college and singer throughout my school years, the cards have many familiar symbols and terms. The cards are small but the graphics are big and clear and they’re thick enough to not easily rip or tear. They will be a great learning tool. I think they’d also be good for singers who need to learn music - to help them find notes quickly and accurately even if they don’t play the piano or keyboard. ... show more

  • Packed with essentials, near-perfect for the classroom!
Edition: Piano flashcards
I was genuinely impressed with the quality and content. They include everything I typically cover with my students: note names, dynamics, rest symbols, note values - all clearly presented and easy to read. Love that they’re double-sided, which gives you a lot of flexibility in how you use them. The cards are sturdy enough to hold up to regular student use, and they’re the perfect size. My only wish is that they included tempo markings and time signatures - two elements that are just as fundamental and frequently taught. Including those would make this set truly comprehensive. Still, t’s a great resource for both beginning and intermediate students, and I highly recommend it to other educators. ... show more
