As I expected from a "4K" resin, this Aqua Ivory 4K is more opaque than other standard resins I've used. This helps preserve fine details, for similar reasons to how black resin can produce very crisp prints. Light bleed/scattering is reduced, etc., all those fun technical reasons. It's actually so good at preserving details that I had to bump up anti-alias on the printer because even the individual pixels and XY layer lines were more crisp and visible in the model. The surface finish is a soft pretty pale pink, not the typical bone/yellowish color I associate with ivory. I suspect this resin was originally going to be called "Skin" or "Flesh", like other manufacturers have done with similar color resins, but Phrozen changed it to "Ivory" to be less...insulting, I guess? It would make sense, skin comes in all sorts of colors after all, not just pale pink. (I'd change the name to "Powderpuff Pink") Using it in a Mars 3, I went with these settings: Layer Height: 50um Bottom Exp: 35-40s Normal Exp: 1.5s Lift Speed: 80mm/min Vat Film: PFA/nFEP I suggest you go with a smaller layer height, like 20-30um, to take full advantage of this resin, especially if you're printing heads for figures or miniatures. I tried Phrozen's Aqua Green and I like that stuff too, though the main reason I use that is for the "21% Elongation" property. Phrozen also claims this Aqua Ivory 4K resin has the same property, but I need that confirmed. I remember Aqua Gray 4K had only 7% Elongation listed, although now apparently that resin also now shows 21%. Did the formulas change? I hope so. [UPDATE] The info given by Amazon's "Search answers" tool isn't accurate. If you want the actual numbers, go to Phrozen's official site, where they have the resin properties listed. Aqua Green does have 21% Elongation, while this Aqua Ivory 4K only has 13%. ... show more

We are pleasantly surprised at the excellent finish and ease of printing for this resin. We printed on a Phrozen 4K Mighty with their default resin settings, no alteration needed. The surface is matte and shows detail well.

I've used a bottle of this resin so far and ordered a 2nd as I was happy with the results. It may claim to be "low odor" but you still can't use it in a house without ventilation. Even with the printer out in the garage my family can smell/tell when I've been 3d printing, so plan for ventilation.
