Description

The Odin II gives photographers more control than they have ever experienced. Control that is direct, logical, and fast. Each of the 5 Groups has its own quick-access button. Changes are made by turning a large, perfectly-placed, digital dial. Pick the light. Make the change. Lock it in. Shoot. A large, illuminated LCD panel shows all settings at a glance. Control five lights in TTL Auto or Manual. Switch the Group OFF and its display line disappears from the screen. Pick from 32 channels. The first four channels offer three Groups and are compatible with the original Odin receivers. Channels five through thirty-two use the new functionality of the Odin II receiver including user- set digital ID for the ultimate in secure triggering. Remotely control speed light zoom settings to provide the perfect coverage from broad light to spot. When shooting with Phottix Indra360/500 light, the Odin II transmitter also offers remote modeling light brightness control. High Speed Sync with TTL flashes and OverDrive Sync with manual, wire-connected, studio-type flashes enable flash photography at up to 1/8000 second for creative aperture effects and action stopping. An AF assist light makes autofocus shooting sure and fast in lower lighting. A range of custom functions including switching ON/OFF of audible beep, screen illumination, and AF Illuminator function allows customizing the Odin II for any application. The Odin II system is compatible with the original Odin system, Phottix Mitros+ speed lights, Indra360/500, Strato, Strato II receivers, and Atlas II in receiver mode.

  • A great piece of gear.
For the price point you can not go wrong. As with any gear, treat it well and it will treat you well. I had the old version and it did great but the new model is truly an improvement. The functionality is leaps ahead from the old version. It is clear they took the information given to them by the customers to heart. If you shoot with a hot shoe flash, these are indispensable. ... show more

  • Ease of use is amazing
I went from using Pocket Wizard Flex TT5 to the Odin II and the difference is stunning. I use this system with Nikon SB700 flashes and the Odin II receivers. I love that everything I need to adjust is conveniently located on the top of my camera. No more opening up my softboxes to adjust the power of the flash at the source. It's great that I can have up to 5 flashes on this device and control them all from my camera. This is especially handy during wedding receptions when I have a 3-4 light setup. The system is hearty and doesn't require an orderly starting process like the pocket wizard. When the battery starts getting low, I can see it on the system. The pocketwizard would just start acting like a fool and make me look like I didn't know how to use my equipment...not a good look for a professional photographer. My only gripe is the support isn't all that great, but there are plenty of forums that can help with any problem. My biggest advice for this system if you prefer manual adjustment of flash power, just make sure your flashes are all set to TTL....this will allow you to manually adjust your power from the transmitter. If you're looking for an easy to use, reliable system...get this one. ... show more

  • Can fire canon triggers from my Nikon camera!
Wish I could find another one! Bought it used but it works great with my strato II triggers that got crushed when they fell out of my pocket. The other shooter I work with has the canon version and we can set each other’s lights off with our trigger which is a nice feature and handy for events where you’re using multiple lights ... show more

  • Junk and don’t work.
Junk. Good idea but completely failed me using Nikon sb-700 flashes. Used with 4 flashes in studio and some fired and some not and exposure through TTL and manual very inconsistent. Sent back and bought godox.

  • Excellent replacement for original Odin trigger
I have a set of original Odin flash trigger/transmitter and receivers for Nikon. The Odin II flash trigger is easier to use than the original. It's much easier to press 1 button for the group and use the dial to increase/decrease EV changes, remove a group and no longer see it in the display. I was able to quickly set the channel to match my Odin receivers and immediately fire flashes each with original Odin flash receivers. The hot shoe is angled which make it easier to see the display and make adjustments especially when the camera is mounted on a tripod. There is also a nice slide lock button for hot shoe attachment. The backlight is only in green color and contrast is not as bright / high contrast as the original Odin. Also the angled hot shoe mount makes the unit taller and wider. The enclosed case has 3 fixed slots for batteries, cable and receiver. But it has difficult to use hook/loop (Velcro) straps. ... show more
