The Gltire Photo Backdrop Stand is fairly sturdy. I’ve seen this exact design before and these can double for light stands if you really want. This is mostly metal which is always good. The tubes appear to be stainless steel but this is absolutely, positively, NOT 100% stainless steel in any city, state, country or universe. It really tarnishes the reliability of the product to make such an outlandish claim that can disproved simply by looking at it. I know stainless steel when I see it and I know regular steel when I see it. And, I certainly can spot cast aluminum. First up are the rivets which open the support arms at the bottom appear to be aluminum and not stainless steel. Absolutely positive that those rivets are aluminum. That’s going to be a weak spot. It will hold up but metal-fatigue stress will get to it. Those can be drilled out and repaired I suppose, if they fail on you. I did look at a another light stand I have that’s similar to this and it has aluminum rivets, too. So, it's not unknown to see these in stands. The cast pieces appear to be plated, cast aluminum. A magnet will not stick to it so it’s not cast iron, and it’s certainly not 100% stainless steel. It has a couple of steel set screws that go through these cast pieces to secure it. The holes and threads are simply tapped through the existing cast aluminum. They could have put brass in there but they didn’t. For this price, I want to see brass and not soft metal like aluminum. This is nice that it will fit a 1/4 inch thread or flip it over for the larger 3/8 inch size. It’s nice and shiny but expect to scar it up the first time you use it. The cross member piece is stainless too and telescopic. There is no way to tighten it so it won’t slip. But, once you get it in the holders, it’s not going anywhere. It also comes with a nice bag of plastic clips and about all you can say are they’re clips. I thought it would be nice to hang the bag on an S hook on my backdrop set ups to always have them at the ready. However, the bag was very poorly made and the seam split. Comes with a travel bag that’s sturdy enough. If you need to take it down to store or use at another location, it will come in handy. Otherwise, if you don’t, you may find it works well for Christmas decorations.

This is so great to have for special occasions. The family can take really nice pictures on holidays and it’s great for special days at church. It stores pretty compact and the storage bag is the best. I also really like the clips

This set is really versatile and I wish I would have found it sooner. Basically you're getting two really high quality light stands and a telescoping crossbar that can hold backdrops. First thing I really enjoyed was the case that everything came in and you can use to pack it up and take it along with you. The case is a simple nylon weave but the fact that you get one is such a plus. The next thing that you'll notice is how solid the stands and the crossbar are. Solid metal, all metal knobs, really well done. Both light stands are spring loaded and well made suitable for most of your lighting needs when they're not being a backdrop. The base of each stand is wide and stable, again, just like a premium light stand should be. Finally, the cross bar that supports the back drop. I used sheers and a few other options but this could easily hold paper rolls as well. The only thing I had to do was fully unscrew the screws that attach the cross bar to the light stands. Then I was able to cover the bar with typical sheers. In summary, this entire package is great. You get two premium light stands AND a back drop plus a case to carry it all in. Great package.
