This thing is genuinely a hazard. Fitment was good and it installed without fuss. After getting everything back together I was on the road again. After a few hundred miles It seemed trustworthy enough to forget about. I was on a 3 hr trip for work when all the sudden a horrible rattling noise erupts from my engine, my engine starts sputtering and the check engine light illuminates. I pull over with virtually no power to the vehicle and get the code scanned - P0420, Cat Below Efficiency Threshold. After a hefty tow bill getting this thing back home, I took the front cat off and lo and behold- the ceramic honeycomb had completely shattered and was just laying in the bottom of the converter. I contacted Philtop customer support for a refund to only receive a single email - “A refund is not possible”. Please do yourself a favor and get a quality replacement cat. Your future self, your engine, exhaust system, and wallet will thank you.

Wow, I kept getting cat and O2 codes and I couldn’t quite narrow it down? The O2 sensors were $30 so I figured what the hell let’s try a cat it’s only a few dollars more.
