  • So far so good
08 Silverado 1500 5.3 4x4 Seen a lot of bad reviews. So far, everything is great. Fits perfect, bolts right up, all the gaskets you need. No bolts. If you keep all your stock bolts. However the tail section has only holes and the original has pressed in bolts so you'd probably need to get some for that. Little tip on removal and install. If you can, take out the old 02 sensors upstream before the CAT. Don't put any in the new one until it's installed. Put all hardware on loose firat before tightening them down. I would crank the center cross pipe down first, then the exhaust manifold ports then the tail. Plus, get a jack and put it under the tail of the transmission. Then drop the crossmember/tranny mount. May take a while for the codes to go out on the vehicle. Let the pipes and the sensors settle in. ... show more

  • Apparently not the best quality- and poor Customer Service by the Manufacturer
Style: 99-05 Silverado 1500
I bought this Catalytic Converter to replace the 19 year old one on my 2003 tahoe. About 6 months after install truck developed a random misfire. Truck would only misfire when under a heavy load. If you pulled over and turned the car off-misfire gone. I paid to have a tuneup done hoping that would fix the misfire. But no luck. Since the only code the truck would throw was a p0300 code..which is just a generic random misfire code, the misfire was very hard to isolate..Paid more money to mechanics, who finally narrowed it down to something emissions related. But it was gonna cost a ton more money to verify exactly what so we just drove the truck "gently". We moved a few months ago from Alabama to Idaho, and I had to rent a car hauler to tow the vehicle 1900 miles. So after arriving in Idaho, the truck started pulling another code-P0430 catalyst system low-efficiency bank 2. Had the mechanic here verify it was the Cats by replacing the 02 sensor on that bank. Mechanic said it's the catalytic converter that's been causing the misfire. I emailed the manufacturer and asked very nicely if they would be willing to send a replacement. They replied that since it was purchased through Amazon I would have to go through Amazon. Amazon said their was only a 30 day warranty, and suggested I talk to the manufacturer. So after going back to the manufacturer to politely ask one more time for a simple replacement- not even bothering to ask for any other compensation for the expense and headache, they didnt even respond to my email. You see, the thing is, you aren't limited to what Amazon says. If you stand behind your product, you stand behind your product. The Original Catalytic Converter lasted 19 years. This one I barely got 6 months out of. A 30 day warranty on a catalytic converter is garbage. This isnt a part you should have to replace every year. Much less every month. I would spend my $ elsewhere. I.understand manufacturing defects. I would be willing to give a much higher rating if the Manufacturer would send another one. Defects are defects. But I shouldn't have to buy another catalytic converter bc the one I bough went bad with less than 7,000 miles on it. The original got 150,000. ... show more

  • Fit and good price!
Style: 10-14 Equinox
Does not come with the bolts on the exhaust manifold side. The factory bolts are welded to the flange, so that being said you'll need to buy 3 bolts and use the factory nuts. It does come with the gaskets and two back bolts and two nuts on the other end of the exhaust. I also had to bend the exhaust bracket a little to drop the exhaust out them bent it back using a ball hammer because I couldn't get a socket on the bolt. This part was a good fit for a 2013 Equinox. Update:after 3 months the check engine light came back on for the cat. I purchased a warrant for this part & bought same one 3 months later and check engine light came back on. I discussed this with a mechanic & he advised me that these after market ones don’t have as much platinum in them, He also said that these are just to get the check engine light off to pass inspection then to sell the car to someone else. That being said I wouldn’t buy these cheap ones unless your just trying to pawn the car off on someone else. ... show more

  • Requires better clamps, can't use one after cat 02 sensor. Requires better clamps, can't use one after cat 02 sensor.
Style: 99-05 Silverado 1500
The right rear (see pics) after cat 02 sensor doesn't fit(frame is in the way) so keep the cap for the exhaust that comes with. This will trigger your check engine light. Also go get better 2&1/2" exhaust clamps (2) or better yet weld it together. I also bought the 3"cat back system so look at my review for that. ... show more

  • Fits 05 Tahoe perfect
Style: 99-05 Silverado 1500
Want to write review after reading all the reviews. As for fitment it is on an 05 Tahoe. Most reviews I read was that didn’t fit right or the placement of the o2 bungs. As for mine the fitment was perfect and the o2 bungs were in the exact location of my factory ones. The only complaint if any would be the doughnut gasket on the passenger side. It does not have the metal insert like the oem which makes for easy installation. Not big deal as new one is $8. Also for piece of mind I recommend using aluminum exhaust tape on the joint and purchase a SS band clamp in place of the supplied clamp for a sealed strong joint. And for installation please know and be aware that you WILL need to drop the transmission crossmember down on the passenger side to get that side in. Other than that easy installation and definitely recommend ... show more

  • Very poor quality and workmanship!
Style: 10-14 Equinox
First of all, let me start by saying that I am an ASE certified technician and installed this converter myself on my 2014 Equinox. The converter came with the necessary gaskets needed to install but only came with hardware to secure the outlet to the intermediate pipe. After purchasing nuts and bolts to secure it to the manifold, I completed the installation. Just over 3 weeks later the welded seam on the flange started leaking and got louder with each day of operation. I then checked on returning the converter and found that there was only a thirty day window and that it had passed by three days earlier. So now I am stuck with a worthless piece of pipe that I can’t use and is worth next to nothing for scrap as aftermarket converters are made with lower grade materials. Don’t waste your money and your time on this piece of junk! ... show more

  • Perfect fit on my 2012 Chevy equinox 2.4L.
Style: 10-14 Equinox
Perfect fit and it worked great. Do pay attention with mounting hardware, it does not have the hardware for the manifold side and the original studs that I was able to remove from old one did not work because there is no thread on the end. Will have to use alternate hardware to attach the catalytic to the manifold. The replacement nuts/bolt (2 ea) on the other end are standard size. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for
Style: 99-05 Silverado 1500
Update; several weeks later and the cats and exhaust is performing well. All about the review still applies. Still, you get what you pay for. Just cats at a muffler shop are going to be 350 each and as I’m sure anyone reading knows, you gotta have 2 most of the time. Well... it’s kinda hard to be mad considering this is about 1/4 the price of what my local muffler shops wanted to charge just for new cats but... 1) the fit could have been better. It comes in 2 pieces so you’ll want to just snug up the connections to the header and fight with it. Went on a 03 Tahoe z71. The cross pipe is about an inch too short so that’s going to leak. 2) man the install is a bear. Take time to spray down the bolts to the header with PB blaster or equivalent. DO NOT try and force them off with an impact. You’ll round off the head. Take your time and use a 3/8 breaker bar, a wobble or universal joint and extensions to get them off. Transmission support cross member has to come down unless you cut out the exhaust, but even if you do, it has to come down to install. 3) big problem I had is the connection to the muffler is either backward or just wrong. Kit comes with a gasket but it’s a ball type connection not requiring a gasket from factory. Maybe it works on other models. Didn’t on my Tahoe. Overall, I saved some money. I ended up buying a new muffler from a local shop so they cut off the connected from the kit going to the stock muffler and straight welded on a new muffler. The cats work. No check engine lights after install. If I had to do it again, I’d probably just buy some universal cats and have a muffler shop cut and weld them in. You get what you pay for. ... show more
